2014 was a mediocre year as far as quality dramas are concerned. Only a handful of good ones and the rest was pure trash.

Pehchan:
An absolute delight this serial was. A journey of people in quest of their own identity, their pehchan... What I loved the most was how deep and real the characters were. They weren't just written and labelled good or bad for the sake of it. No, everyone had shades, different layers which added another dimension to the show and made it so interesting to follow.

Right up there with All Time Greats we have produced, a must watch. My fav of the year 2014. Everyone from Alisbah to Iffet to Sohail were perfect in their roles.

Mere Humdum Mere Dost:
Another gem. Mature and depicting real problems of real people with a great message at heart. I loved Adnan Siddique's Haider the most, one of the best characters on TV in recent times.

Bunty I Love You:
A different and welcome plot for a change. Some loopholes and a bit stretched in places but still good enough. If not for anything else, this should be watched just to see Saba's performance. That lady just kills it everytime. I mean, how good can one get??

Digest Writer and Jackson Heights were good as well.

The disappointments of the year were Firaaq and Shukk. They had so much potential. Both came with stellar casts esp Firaaq (Mohib, Uzma, Mazhar ); and they started of with a bang as well but then bombed into oblivion. In one case the writer/director went into hibernation never to return and the other got dragged & dragged; until no one cared anymore.
