My mom, a highly educated person, watches all the mindless crap on TV, and makes my dad watch with her (he gets the TV for like an hour to watch SAB (🥱). I ask her why she watches such obnoxious shows...and she legit doesn't have a reason. 🤢

People are just conditioned to turn the TV on in the evening and watch what is on. Yes old YHM may not have been the taste for all aunties, but it could be an acquired taste like a fine wine.

Indian shows used to be pretty good - I watched a few older shows around the time of the "K-volution" and I loved them! Shows like Sarabhai vs. Sarabhai were tele-gold in my opinion.

I wonder if there's ever been a study done looking at the longitudinal trajectory of desi TV shows and how they have evolved. #dork status
