Anushka Sharma is all set to perform at the opening ceremony of IPL
New Delhi: This IPL could well script a new tale for Anushka Sharma!
After finding herself in the eye of the storm for her visit to Sydney to support Team India in the World Cup semifinals, the Bollywood actress is all set to perform at the inaugural ceremony of the IPL in Kolkata on April 7.
As she reached Mumbai on Saturday morning with boyfriend Virat Kohli, the sources in the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) confirmed that if things fall as per plan, Anushka will set the stage on fire when the cash-rich league begins at the Salt Lake stadium a couple of weeks later. And if Anushka finally performs in the opening ceremony, this will be her first official show in a BCCI event.
And not just Anushka, the efforts are on to rope in Hrithik Roshan and Varun Dhawan for the mega event. The BCCI is coordinating with the hosts Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) to ensure a smooth show. When ABP News spoke to CAB treasurer Biswarup Dey, he confirmed the development. "The talks are fruitful and we are hopeful of seeing Anushka for the IPL opening ceremony. The Board is in talks with the actress and an official announcement will be made soon," Dey said.

Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma return from Australia hand in hand.
That evening will, however, be special for the NH10 actress for one more reason.
As a rule of the tournament, all the team captains will also have to be present during the opening ceremony and Anushka's boyfriend Virat will be gracing the occasion as the captain of Royal Challengers Bangalore. And, the organizers are planning to make those moments special. "There will be a few surprises in store. This will be an event to remember," Dey said.
Drawing flak for being present at the SCG to watch the semifinal, Anushka and Virat arrived in Mumbai on Saturday and were spotted outside the airport holding hands. And now, with the BCCI all set to rope in the Bollywood actress as one of the performers for the IPL opener, Anushka has something to look forward to!
