I was quite shocked by that scene too, but I think maybe there's more too it. Maybe Muskaan was just trying to teach Devyani a lesson. Obviously she cannot continue to be such a coward and expect to remain an officer of the CID. Maybe now Devyani will learn how to stand up for herself. Btw, I'm only basing this on the first MW episode, so I may be wrong.
