Poonam's the best... at gaining sympathy.

There. I said it. There may be lots of you who don't want to believe this... in your mind, it may be "Poonam's good.. Poonam's great... Poonam's this.. she's that.."


I admit that she's a good singer. I don't doubt that. But there are better singers than her that are lower than her in poll ranks at the moment... Amanat for example. Poonam's in position #3.. and she's not there for her singing. She's there because her mom is sick and she once shared half a roti between her and her mom... I've seen people vote out of sympathy, myself.


So, my friend wanted to watch some Sa Re Ga Ma Pa videos.. online. And, before this, she disliked Poonam and her singing. So she happened to pull up something where Poonam was talking about how poor she is and that her mom is sick and stuff.. and my friend suddenly melts and says, "Iske liye vote karo!" (meaning, Vote for her.) And she forces me to go to the site where you vote for the contestants, and she makes me vote for Poonam.

I didn't think people would really vote for her out of sympathy. Heh, who was I kidding? It happened with Diwaker.. why won't it happen for her?


This is a singing contest and it should be treated as such.

I totally agree with you.. she's a good singer, but she should keep her life away from the stage.. so as to avoid sympathy votes.

true, srgmp shudn't get contestants' personal stories to help them gain votes. Buh poonam is a gud singer, so she shud get votes.

Poonam is a good singer.. no doubt about it.. better than Amanat also... her personal life was brought up today by Himesh and not by her... At first he praise her and then said everyones remembers your mom and you... no one has forgotten that and they vote... Actually I felt HR was saying indirectly that cos of your sympathy people are voting... which is totally unfair... Poonam is a fantastic singer.. Her personal life was brought up by Ismail Durbar and not her in the first place.. she just said I have come from a simple background and ID started on her personal life in the first episode or so.. so it is not her fault... all these mentors try and hype each of their contestant in some way or other... try to play some card which will influence voters.. so Dont Blame Poonam... She deserves all the praise and votes...

Poonam is the only contestant who do not hype herself in any way... Did anyone see Mauli today going to Akshaye and telling him to dance with others contestants when sumedha was singing.. I dont think Mauli should have gone to him that time as it was Sumedha's singing and not her... Poonam is very simple and her singing is also very nice...

We discussed this sympathy tactic a hundered times.! I didnt support her but I cant deny the fact the she is best female up there right now..! She has the potential to be the winnner.. Her voice has that unique pitch which her female counterparts lack.... (referring the singing part not the screaming part..*cough* *cough* sorry Sumesh jii..😆)

Jadooo jii... well said.. Both Raja and Poonam dont have tht typical voice that sounds like any other singer..! They have a unique voice quality..👏

but despite that you cannot take away the fact that they are great singers. if they are using a little more than singing to win, well so be it.

She is a fabulous singer...She deserves to be #3 #1 but she used her sympathy card once...I wish she becomes #3 on her singin, which can only happen if people don't fall for sympathy and vote for talented singers like poonam

Hey It's not fair to blame Poonam. WE all should agree now that she is a great singer, best female singer. In this show they show everyone's personal life and so they did for Poonam. But after that episode, she never discussed anything about her mother. Main culprits are these mentors who continuously bring that topic and force viewers like us to think that Poonam is getting sympathy votes.
