Hey..

So, it's me writing again.. Previously, it was for a dear friend who had to suffer the brunt of IF's lax and uncaring attitude towards it's own members..

This time, it's me and yet another friend.. Our works have been copied word-to-word, with the titles, and even our notes, that we write to our readers..

Obviously, the 'thief' is someone we both know..

The act, as shameful and blatant as it is, disheartens us both.. And we're considering quitting IF after years of membership..

Why? Because our own admins haven't made the provisions to safeguard our works..

Yes, I do agree that we give up the ownership of our write-up once we post it on the Web? But does that mean, we permit thieves to steal them?

Wattpad, fanfiction.net, Archivesofourown, to name a few and even Blogger, and Wordpress have active tags to keep works from stolen?

Why not IF?

And I ask this, as a responsible and senior member here.. I've been listening to the age-old excuse of 'Work being in progress..'

Why does it take so long to add html tags to a website that has thousands of followers from across the world?

Anyway, I'm done ranting.. I have reported the member at the respective website, and hopefully the admins will take the necessary action..

But what are we going to do about this?

I have two suggestions..

1. Either you do something to protect your own people..

2. Shut down your fiction corners.. Coz it seriously ain't the effort, emotions and sleepless nights, we as writers invest into them!

I apologise if I sounded grumpy, but that's what I am right now!

P.S. : I also have a confession from the thief who stole our works.. What is IF willing to do? Ban her?

Will post them, if needed by the Admins..

Mods... we guys post here for the fact that trust you all to make sure our work has been put up and sadly to notice that quite the opposite has been going on...

To say we are disappointed would be a huge understatement as to what is going on...

This is a shame... I think it's high time since you guys really buck up and do something!

I agree with Avni, close the so called fan fiction forums cause that has a pseudonym of "get ur work stolen" forum

I think u guys hv tried to put in ur effort in securing this but I think it is pretty clear how incompetent it is!

This is a serious matter, my story was also stolen, but nothing happened!

i had to myself go and fight, but then that time i knew about it, but what about sites where our story are being copied shamelessly and we dont even know about it!

IF should really protect its writers and members😡

Admin/Mods,

I, as a member of IF am not sure how ,when & what course of action will be from your end on the above post coz if you had taken the necessary action before ,this would not have been repeated again.

This is a big disappointment as to what's going on wherein after two consecutive incidents about Plagiarism here at IF which is leading writers to discontinue their work here.

I humbly request you ppl to take necessary actions regarding this & work on the security aspects of the contents of this site so that the writers can be sure that their hard work is genuinely appreciated along with their peace of mind that their work is secured even if it on the world wide web.

We should stop posting on IF cuz it's not safe, it never was
What are mods doing? Nothing
They will say if the story is published outside IF they can't do any thing about it
Writers should place a no copy and only for IF members tag...
And about those theives,Mods will only Ban them.. Will it help?
well breaking news girl they can make another I'd and can review and copy our work
When writer try to protest on other sites about it those bloody thrives blocked us
We have to work together
They can block 1, 2, maybe 5 but they can block +50
You go and take action against her di we are with you

Again sorry for being late.

I think the best solution for you behna is for you to take your work where its protected from thieves.

IF has no solution for this problem or else they are too lazy to work on this problem.

Whatever the case they are obviously not interested in protecting their members work or else they would have resolved this years ago.

I know this has been going on for years and yet they still let it happen over and over.

This is one of the reason I no longer feel like being the active member of IF.

I am going to wait and see if they reply to you here, especially the head honcho Vijay.😡

Mods, we put in a lot of time and effort to write stories and post it on IF but then some X Y Z gets the option to conveniently steal and post it elsewhere under their names. It really kills the original writer from within when she or he sees their work under another name and praises getting showered.

The real writer who is the mind, heart and soul behind the story literally becomes a third person, an alien to the story which is heart breaking.

We have made similar appeals long before but no action has been taken and the forum still remains open for stealing.

please please do the needful and save our works which we write after so much efforts and entrust it on this forum. Please save our work from the thieves!

Agreedd!!! Pls Mods, we request you. As said by Vidya, We all writers put so much effort by taking out our time from our busy schedules. Its totally unfair. I have posted 4 stories in IF and I am not aware if my stories have been stolen also. Plsss do the needful!
