"Aaphtab sat on the bench in a park , looking at the last orange rays of sun , which were shattered in the sky ... the proof of sun set ... But it didn't set ,for him it was its fall ... ... his inner self was also shattered like those rays of sun... and everything seemed negative ... how could anything be positive for him when he lost every single person in his life ?? he lost everyone ,for their happiness he struggled and reached this stage of success .. but they were not there today ... to share his happiness ... they went somewhere , not to comeback ever ... leaving him all alone ...
He smiled sadly , remembering his father's words
" I call u Aaphtab " the sun" and u will light up every single place u reach..."
He smiled that time ,listening to his father ... he was energetic , and young ... able to fulfill his wishes ... but today he got to know his father forgot to tell him that it has to descend , it also has to shatter ... it also has a fall everyday ...
Today his status , his life ..his status ,his degree , his job ..nothing seemed to give him happiness ... As he couldn't save his father ..he couldn't save his loved ones with those materialistic things ... for a long time he kept looking at the sky blankly ... trying to get the answers .. " for what he has been struggling ?? for what he has been increasing his bank balance ... he too will die one day like his family ??
He recalled how he has been studying abroad , just because his father wanted him , to have a foreign degree ... he wanted his son to achieve everything ...Aaphtab went and got settled there ,achieved the degree , got a good job ... for him he fulfilled all of his dreams .. but that was temporary...that was fake ... ... everything finished when he came back ... his only family ,his father died ... his hope ,his courage ,his strength died ...
" isn't it so beautiful ??" she said lost in the beauty of sunset ...
He instantly looked at her , she was sitting on his right side ,looking at the sky , same way as he was doing a second before ... ...
He looked towards the sky once again , the sunset didn't seem beautiful to him ...the orange rays of sun , just looked like the marks of sun's defeat ...
" its not beautiful ... it shows downfall of the sun ,which tried to light up everything ... , " he said ,without removing his gaze from sky ..
" u r hopeless "
" when God gives u so much pain , n there is no way out ,..u get hopeless unwillingly "
" no , there is always a way out ... my teacher says " there is always a ray of hope " , its just ur test ... and the bad time will also pass , after that its rise , light and happiness ...
" sometime its not " her positive views were irking him .. he was going through so much pain that nothing seemed positive ...
" everytime there is ,... " she argued back ... " u know , sun also sets daily with the hope of rising again next day ... and it rises , no one have enough strength to stop it "
HE :" there is the difference in us and sun "
She : " no both r the creations of one God .. "
He went silent ,there was no point to argue back ... his negative comments didn't seem to work ... she had replies for all his negative comments ...
Getting no answer from him she said again ... " there is always a ray of hope , till u r alive ..till u r breathing "
This comment made him look at her , did she talk about life ?? why there were so many deep emotions while saying that ?? her face clearly showed ,she too was in pain but she was hopeful , unlike him ...
After sometime , the last traces of sun vanished and she got up and went off without saying anything ...
He couldn't stop her , though he wanted to know more but right now he was analizing her words .. she told him there is always a ray of hope ... is there any for him too ??? she said sun rises after its fall , will he rise too ?? is it his test ??
Yes!! Probably it is his test ... what if its fall ?? he too will rise ... the Aaphtab of his father will also rise ... her words gave him strength .. a piece of lesson that there is a ray of hope ...
He went back home , with a courage to live again ..his faith n belief did tremble for sometime ,but she was an angel ... who didn't let him do anything wrong in his bad time ...
In few days he was back to his normal life ,he went abroad again , but this time his faith in God increased ten folds .. he believed , there is always a ray of hope if u r alive... God sent an angel to tell him this , when he decided to end his life ... ,
After an year he came back ... he so wanted to say thanks to the one who changed him from a negative to a positive person , who changed his life , so he went to park ,silently hoping she would meet him there again ,though there was no chance but he knew she herself said "there is always a ray of hope "
He waited almost whole evening on the same bench , but she didn't come, he looked at the sky ,the last traces of sun rays were there , it did look beautiful ..so pretty ,peace spreading scene .. he wanted to meet her ...he wanted to tell her ,that its beautiful ... but she was not there ..
it turned dark and she didn't come , he thought to go back ... as it's a stupid thing to wait for a person after an year at the same place ...
an old lady came and sat beside him sadly .. he was confused ,she didn't seem to acknowledge his presence like that day she didn't do ... After sometime she spoke ,breaking his puzzled thoughts
" its her place ... only she used to sit here daily , to see sunset , she loved it "
He didn't know ,whom the old lady is talking about , but quickly his mind drifted towards her ?? the angel he met an year back ...she also sat here to see sunset ...
" where is she ??" he asked ...
" she ... In hospital fighting the death and life game "
" what ??" he got shocked with this information ... she was young girl , how could she ???
"where??which hospital ??"
As the old lady muttered the name of the hospital ?? he went off instantly , she helped him in his hard time now it was his turn to give her hope ... a lesson that till she is breathing there is a chance ...
In hurry he forgot to ask her name , as he reached hospital ,he didn't know what ward she is in ... and all he did was running from one ward to another checking which room she is in ... after checking and searching for almost an hour he finally reached ICU ...
And there she laid , on life support system ... almost dead , pulse rate falling and heart beat so low ... a group of doctors , around her trying to get her back to life but there was no coming back ... she was dieng ...
he stood near her bed , saying "u told me , there is a ray of hope ...u changed my life .. u saved a person from doing a sin of being hopeless in his hard time ,... "
she opened her eyes slowly , looking towards him , doctors were wondering all their efforts went vain but she opened her eyes to his talks ...
she looked at him , passed a smile ...
A smile of hope , a hope that she had changed a person , may b coz of this , she live peacefully in the other world ...the world here after ...
She never lost hope when she was fighting cancer from 4 years of her life ... but today she had a better hope , a bigger thing was waiting for her ...
That was it , her smile stayed there on her face ,but her eyes got closed peacefully ... !!! ... Closed to never open again ... ...
A lone tear escaped his eyes as he saw her closing her eyes with a smile on her face .
She died with the hope of peaceful life hereafter
And he went off with the new lesson of his life " there is a ray of hope after death too "
