Part 13

All night Madhu's face flashed infront of RK's eyes. She wasnt acting now for sure. She doesn't need to do that now. But even then she flinched seeing his pain. Does she really love him? But even if she does.. Could he really forgive her for playing with his emotions the way she did? He wanted to believe that he can just forget what she did with him but everytime he tried to think of him and Madhu together, he would be filled with doubts. Whom did he love? When was she actually her and when was she pretending? Was the laugh that they shared the other day real, or was it manipulated? The eyelock that had happened spontaneously, was it staged? And that silence when he had just cherished her presence around him... was that silence letting her have more ideas of trapping him? These doubts burst the balloon of his love and illusion everytime.

As he was sitting the next day in his cabin reading through different files given to him to get acquainted with the agency, Sikky entered his cabin. "Will you come for training?" Sikky asked confused as he entered the door casually. He had grown friendly with him by now.

"Training.. hmmm.. I was told something related to that i suppose.." RK said trying to remember.

"Man... you have guts.. You dont even remember what the General must have told you.. The General!" he said with widened eyes not believing himself.

"I would have remembered if I was listening to him" RK tried to defend himself.

"You weren't even listening!! Man! You have guts!!" He exclaimed even more, delighted.

"Yeah forget it.. Where do we have to go..?" RK said trying to drop the topic.

"Ohh yes.. come with me.. we have a point shoot practice right now.. My personal favourite.." Sikky said with an attitude as he walked out with RK walking beside him.

They reached a big hall, which had a high roof. It was mostly white and had boards on one end on which seemed the targets were being practiced. He saw Madhu standing in the middle wearing black jacket and black pants with ear plugs on. She was aiming at one of the board.

"Interesting.." he said as he went to stand beside her.

Madhu looked at him suddebly taken off gaurd. She somehow hadn't expected him there. "You really need to stop giving me those smirks.." She said with a slight frown. His smirks somehow made her feel weak in the knees and she didn't like being weak.

"Why? Do you feel something?" RK asked her naughtily.

Madhu rolled her eyes.

"You were aiming at something... let me see too if your aim at gun is as good as your aim at me.." he said acting excited.

Madhu shot one angry glare at him for that. Yeah she had taken enough of those taunts.

"Okay fine.. That would be all for today.. Now show me your aim.." RK said.

Madhu looked straight ahead and pulled the trigger. The bullet pierced right through the center.

"Ooohh man.. that was cruel.." RK said in admiration. While Madhu smiled proudly.

"Hey RK.. here is your gun.." Sikky came giving him a gun. "Give it a shot.." he said.

"Yeah.. like literally giving it a shot.." RK said shaking his head.

He stretched his hand forward and tried to aim. "Its not done this way.." Madhu said softly deciding whether she should or shouldn't interrupt.

"Yup.. i thought so.." RK smiled nervously.

"Amm.. You have to keep your gaze and your hands aligned.. You are just focussing your eyes on the point but your hands are not in the same direction.." she said to him.

"Hmmm... You mean like this.." RK said straightening his arms.

"Yeah much like that.. It has to come through practice that it happens on a reflex without you having to think about it.." she said getting comfortable as RK wasn't objecting to her giving him tips.

"okay.. I got that.." he said as he focused his eyes on the point and pulled the trigger. The bullet struck a little away from the exact centre.

"Wow.. Man.. Are you using it for the first time really? That was close.." Sikky said surprised to hear that he was shooting for the first time but had almost struck the target.

"But still wasn't as perfect as..." he said eyeing Madhu through the corner. He had an urge to beat Madhu in any competition. He wanted to win and be perfect so he can win over her. He had lost one game from her. Now he won't let that happen.
Madhu sensed the strange determination in his eyes.

Sometime later Madhu was actually training some other girl. Telling her about the posture and the aim. While RK was busy shooting at the board ahead. He had to get that perfect.

"When you look at the field.. all you should see is your aim.." Madhu said to the girl. "All your actions and all thought process should be focussed on getting your aim down. This is a static point. On the field.. it won't be that easy. You will have to plan your moves before the other. You have to know what he would do so that you can trap him at the right time.." she said to her in a strict tone.

RK looked at her as her words hurt him. Somehow he could relate to those words. He was her aim and she got him down perfectly. He looked at the board that Madhu had shot sometime back as he thought that. Suddenly he was filled with anger. He was just an aim for her and she was perfect in striking him right at the center. He clenched his face in fury as he pulled the trigger again and then again and then again. All 3 shots hitting the exact center.

Madhu turned back hearing the 3 shots in a go and saw the board struck at the center. She smiled happily seeing him but RK just stared ahead blankly. 'I will polish myself in your game Madhubala.. I will also be the perfect hunter.'

Madhu was driving back to her house now when her car broke down and this time it was in real. It was dark and was raining heavily and she didnt know what she should do now. Not finding it any sensible to keep sitting in the car without doing much, she got down and opened the bonnet of her car trying to know what exactly went wrong. That was actually strange because her car never broke down that way. Well.. the last 2 times she had faked it but her car was always loyal to her. Seemed even she had decided to tease Madhu for blaming her again and again.

The rain poured heavily over her. She checked a few wires but couldnt find the problem. Giving up, she went back in the car and took out her gun as she tucked it in her jeans, locked the car and decided to walk so she could get a mechanic for the car.

RK who was coming on his bike passed by Madhu's car but she wasnt there. He felt a little strange but soon enough he found her walking down the street drenched in rain water. Again! Again she was pretending that her car broke down. RK was filled with fury. How long will she make a fool out of him? Will she ever stop acting and be herself?

RK stopped his bike by her side as he took off his helmet. A frown was plastered on his face as he stared at Madhu with anger screaming through his eyes.

"Ohh Thank God.. Rishabh you are here.. My car.." Madhu said getting visibly relaxed.

"Stop it!!" RK screamed at her and she was suddenly jerked by his scream.

"Stop your dramas Madhubala.. Do you think I am a fool? Or you get some kind of sadistic pleasure in making a fool out of me? What do you think of yourself? You will act like a cute damsel in distress and I will run behind you to save you.. Why the hell can't you be the way you are and let me be the way I am..?"

"But Rishabh.. My car actually broke down.. Its standing down the street.." Madhu said trying to defend herself.

"Yeah I saw that.. Now you left your car midway and you have decided to blackmail me even more by walking in this heavy rain. I am not that fool anymore.. I have seen you Madhubala... how many others have you gone out with in your attempt to pin them down in the name of your job? Women like you just try to show yourself vulnerable and easy so that men fall for your charms.. You are nothing but a bloody trickster.." RK screamed at her.

Madhu was stunned hearing him. Uptil now she was trying to interupt but now she was lost of words.

"Yes.. you can just trick and make me think that I care for you.. but I dont.. I hate you.. You have decieved me into your love showing me what you werent.. But let me tell you Madhubala Malik.. I don't love you.. The one I loved doesnt exist.. For you I have nothing but hate.. Just get the hell out of my life..!!" He screamed in the end and then he started his bike and rode off.

Madhu was till now shocked as she kept staring at his departing figure. Once he was out of sight, tears started rolling down her cheeks which got mixed with the rain water. She wouldnt have known herself that she was crying if her eyes hadn't been burning. She was blank suddenly. She couldnt think. RK's words rang in her ears and all she could feel was her pain and helplessness. She walked on the road as tears kept coming to her and all her moments with RK flashed in front of her eyes.

It was more than an hour as RK sat on his window. He was angry to the core at that woman. She had the audacity to fool him again. She thinks he would be that stupid to trust her.

He was still thinking when he saw Madhu walking in the campus. Not only that she was drenched and she seemed to have been walking the same way in the heavy rain since long. He suddenly stood up seeing her. Why was she walking? Was she telling the truth? He walked to his door when Madhu was no more visible in the campus. He opened the door and saw her walk through the corridoor.

"Madhu.." he spoke out though confused and dreading that it not be true.

She was suddenly jerked out of her daze as she looked around trying to register her surroundings. She had walked all the way to her house. Her gaze fell on RK and anger started filling her.

"Are you fine?" RK asked worried.

Madhu raised her hand infront in a gesture for him to stop.

"Enough RK!" She said in a shaking yet strict tone.

"I have had enough.. I won't bother you anymore.. Sorry for ever coming in your life.. You are right I am a bloody trickster.. Nothing more.. What if I had a serious job to serve.. I am a trickster.. a low character woman who gets involved with random men.. So what I had to serve my country and safegaurd it.. so what if I couldnt have compromised with the security of my mother land.. I am a trickster.. because Rishabh Kundra's feelings were bigger than my country..."

RK was shocked to hear her. "Madhu..." he tried to speak.

"Agent Malik.. that is me for all my colleagues.." she said angrily. "And do you know.. It wasn't all my fault.. you were too much of a stupid to trust any random girl.." she said with a laugh making fun of him. For now all she wanted was to hurt him. Make him feel how she felt. "I didn't even had to work too hard.. You were too easy to fool.. just a smile and acting cute and bubbly.. and you were ready to go on your knees. You guys are all the same.. You want a cute little girl who is dependent on you for every small thing.. so you can act like her Knight in shining armour.. and if that girl turns out to be an self-dependent woman.. you feel hurt.. your bloody male ego is crushed. And you are no different from any guy down the road Rishabh Kundra.. You would just have loved the cute dependent Madhu.. but you can't stand the real me.. Why? Because I am not your 'cute damsel in distress' as you said...! Go to hell RK.. Madhubala Malik will no longer beg and explain in front of you anymore.. You don't even know what love is..!" She glared at him angrily and then walked to her apartment. She opened the door and banged the door shut behind her leaving an equally furious RK standing at his door. He clenched his face in fury and went in his apartment.

Madhu closed the door and slouched down on the floor as she cried for herself. The pain was piercing through her heart. But she couldnt just let that man walk all over her heart again and again. Whatever she did wasnt for any of her benefit. She wasnt some trickster walking on the road playing with random people.. she was working for her country. She had a duty and a responsiblity towards her country. And as much as she had thought that he would understand it in sometime but he was just bent on blaming her. She walked to the mirror and wiped off her tears. She had taken enough of his taunts and everytime she was hurt. But not anymore. She won't be a punchbag for him anymore. She took in a determined breath as she looked into the eyes of Agent Malik.

Ok res unres thanks for this update. Thanks for showing a strong selfdefending madhu. Till now I was concerned with what RK has lost n felt..as u never have depicted madhu's feelings so openly and precisely. I went through her outburst twice and realized how she was. Really, men never like self-dependent women so much. Its easier for them to love a cute vulnerable emotional girl than loving a practical strong-headed intelligent woman for whom logic comes first emotions second. Everyone thinks intelligence is men's characteristic where softness emotion is for us. Madhu broke the line that's why she's characterless she's trickistar.. Lovely part and I felt a very special bonding in this one being a emotinal-turned-pragmatic woman. Continue please.
