Is TANU WEDS MANU Sequel a copy of MERA SAAYA?

Kangana Ranaut will be next seen in 'Tanu Weds Manu Returns' which is a sequel to 2011 release 'Tanu Weds Manu'. And if sources are to be believed, the sequel has similarities with 1966 film 'Mera Saaya' starring Sunil Dutt and Sadhana.

The source says that the twin characters of Kangana are similar to the double role played by Sadhana in the Mera Saaya'. "There are two Kanganas in 'Tanu Weds Manu Returns' " one of them is based in London while the other hails from a village in Haryana. The basic plot is somewhat similar to that of Mera Saaya' with a few changes made to the storyline," an industry insider said.

A source close to the film confirmed the news, but didn't reveal anything more about the similarities between the two films. "We have completed our London schedule and will now be shooting in Haryana for at least a week. A major part of the film has already been shot and hopefully, this will be our last schedule," the source added.

I loved the original 'Mera Saya' movie. If they are true to the original, the hero has nothing much to do in that movie apart from mourning all the time.
