Nandini knows Kundan is studying in the same class since many years and also his friends. I remember her saying he need to polish his brain instead of making her polish his shoes. This means she is aware that problem is with Kundan and his friends but not education.

But today she was saying 'what is there in education?' (heard it like this). Her dialogue was like...no use of education. 😕 She's finding some problem with it.

Aren't they contradicting !?

May be CVs forgot about the previous scene before making her say all this.

Education se kundan ne kuch nahi seekha. Nandini might think Education is a waste. Dimaag chalana and education are not same anyway. Uneducated doesn't have to mean that they don't have brain. DS ka dimaag toh pehele bhi tez hi chalta tha even when she was uneducated.
Maybe anandi will reach that place as social worker and teach Nandini the importance of education and the difference it makes.

She has not seen much of the world and on top of it she only saw splendid specimen like Kundan and his friends. Education has not really touched these people's brains.

So she concluded what use is there in education when it doesn't transform people or make them any better.
Her world needs to be opened up or rather she needs a window through which she can see the world
She can't be compared with Anandi - She is more like Dsa who managed to get along by using brains and guts and picking up survival instincts while dealing with problems encountered.
She may not be interested in schooling but she definitely is a good teacher teaching other abused kids some survival techniques which can be of use to survive in the world they inhabit😆

@ Bold Nandini understood well that education has its own standards and Kundan is not able to reach them. (according to the scenes shown in previous episodes)

But today she was saying to her friend what is there in education? Why this suddenly changed?

Nandini's thoughts abt education are just from her experiences currently.. and what are her experiences??
polish shoes of K, lug his bag, be ridiculed by him and his class mates, K sitting in the same class for 3 yrs, the same K who goes to school - how does he treat Nandini?? All these experiences have brought in not so positive impressions in that child about education.. also am not sure if the child thinks that education is not going to change the life that she is leading..

Unless and until such negative experiences turn positive, her ideas abt education, the need for schooling will not change..

Education has never touched these people's brains because they never applied their brain for the purpose of education. I think that's what she meant by saying 'polish your brain'...considering her previous dialogues.

Now why suddenly education becomes useless?

Nandini's views on education are for her own education. Education is not useless, but according to her education for her is useless.

I guess she sees no point in it. She sees her future in this house, with these people. She sees herself growing up and doing what other ladies in the house are doing. Cooking, cleaning and taking care of the men's needs. She probably is already skilled in all of it. Other ladies are uneducated, so the thought of her getting educated would not even enter her head.

The girl she was friendly with, must have received some education before being married off by her parents. This is why she craved for more.

Unlike Anandi, who had studied before being married, whose mind had been opened up to the world and its wonders by teacherjee, Nandini has not had that opportunity.
Even though she sees other girls going to school, she probably thinks it is not for her...

Unless she is plucked from here and put in a more open environment, she will live, grow up and die here.

nandini is naughty kid who finds happiness in small small things. And she has accepted her fate, she finds techniques to deal with it. But she never wants to change it. So naturally she finds education useless. She must have been told that studies are not meant for her.

Regarding yesterday's comment I feel she feels education requires intelligence. It's not she wants to study. In fact she finds it hectic.

I think it's more to do with the relevance of education in their lives.
Her thinking is that what is she going to do by getting educated? She will still be doing pati and sasural ka sewa and doing ghar ka kaam.
Which she is anyways doing and is very adept at it.
So she at present from what she knows and understands life doesn't see the need for education.
That comment about Kundan needing to polish his brains is directed more at Kundan and his progress in school not about greatness of education.
She doesn't think that she can't do well in school but it is just that she doesn't see the need to for education
She thinks education while it may be good but it is not meant for the likes of her.
Anandi pined for education because she has seen what education can do.Anandi's world was much bigger than what Nandini's world is
She needs someone to open up the windows of her life so that she can see what the world is like and what all things she can do.
Don't know when that is going to happen. It is unlikely to happen until she meets Anandi.
