I think risk has proven to be our best friend so far. Strategy has lead us nowhere. The sudden technological expansion and the changes our country is seeing is not all well stratefied. Instead, it's all because the country decided to take a risk and march forward with other countries. But we are still very far behind. There is so much needed to do and if risks are never taken, we will still go nowhere.
I love your example of cricket. It's so true. People always curse the game and call it bull. But the truth is, it's not the game it's our indian team. They have been following the same old strategies for years. And are unwilling to take any risk in the game. Games are always dependent on risks.
So, yes I agree India needs to step up now and take the risks needed to make our country bigger and better.

Nice article Deepak...Its such a coincidence because just the other day we were having this discussion amongst our friends...

I said India's decision making power is very weak...Its probably because of the centuries of slavery that we were put through, that we have become so defensive and insecured...And I quoted some examples from Kargil to Dravid's cricketing strategies to the files being on pending on the office desks to the insconsistent 'Nuclear bill' movement to so many other umpteen things...

My friend's response to my tirade was simple...He said, perhaps that is why India is still thriving as a democracy and simply a wonder of wonders to all those who wrote it off when we got our Independence...Where people at most gave 10years, for us to stay together, we stayed together for 60 years and going strong....

Eventhough I kind of found a point in what he said, but still India is thriving, because it just wants to THRIVE...If it wanted to LEAD, it would have been able to do that as well..Its all in the mindset of the policy makers and people...

why is it that India still have 80 year old fossils as ministers in the cabinet. Surely an 80 or 70 year old cannot be as dyamic as a 50 or 40 year old person. This is a fact of life. These old people are tired easily, need naps now and then and often fall asleep. In fact they literally sleep on the job. They also fall sick often and need the "best and expensive" medical attention costing tax payers a lot of money.

Is it not better to have younger ministers who can work long hours and put in hard work, since there is so much of important and urgent national matters to address and solve., which we all know is a fact.

Surely, 70 to 80 year old people should be barred from holding ministerial positions as they will not have that sense of urgency and dynamism which a younger person can bring into play.

I say, get rid of these old men or force them to go do community work, if they still insist that they want to "serve" the nation.

Hmm, this is what I was saying in my other post...The 80 year old fossils😆, need to move on and give some space to the youngsters...

Talking abt taking naps, I remember how our Honorary ex-PM Mr.Deve Gaouda used to make it to the head lines and magazine cover pages because of his napping bloopers...🤢 😆

I think putting some age restrictions will defo do some good..If nothing atleast, it will encourage more youth to come forwards...Now these parliamentary sessions are so boring with all these old people coming there to take naps, the youngsters may be getting put off to be a part of such unhappening team..😆

And we have some useless bureaucrats put in charge to drag the country at a snails pace too.
