While the taxi speeds down the now-familiar grass-bordered pathways surrounded by the spellbinding mountains, Jassi sits quietly at the window, bidding the place farewell with her eyes. Armaan watches her without saying a word, her hand clasped in his own.
It is evening by the time they reach Chandigarh, and from there they board their flight to Mumbai. Next morning, sleepy-looking JandA are welcomed ecstatically by a party comprising of Raj, Nandu, Beauty, and their respective parents. But Jassi's eyes are searching for her children.
Jassi: Mom, Vedika aur Ashish kahaan hai?
Ila: They are at home, beta…..Meghna aur Angel, unhe tumhare welcome ke liye ready kar rahe hai…
Nandu starts loading their luggage into the car. When he is finished, he looks expectantly at Jassi, who is about to follow Armaan in.
Jassi: Kya hua?
Nandu: Tu itne baad aayi hai, kya ek baar bhi hum…..
She looks at him puzzled, till he holds out both his hands. Then she grins in sudden understanding, and they do their "atti batti" routine, ending up in helpless laughter like a couple of kids.
When they finally reach home, Jassi nearly jumps out of the car and runs inside. Meghna is in the doorway ready to greet them. Giving her a hurried hug and whispering "Thanks for everything" in her ear, Jassi rushes to her room. Angel is bending over Ashish's crib. On seeing Jassi, she stands up, smiling.
Jassi hugs Angel too and then picks up Ashish, smothering him with hugs and kisses. The baby coos and gurgles in delight to have his mamma back. He has been dressed beautifully in a new soft pink (seems to be taking after his dad's choice of colours already!) outfit, complete with cap and boots. Jassi looks gratefully at Angel. "Yeh sab tumne kiya?"
Angel: Err…yeah, maine aur Meghna ne actually…..to welcome you back.
Jassi gives her another, more impulsive hug. "Tum dono ko thank you kehna bahut kum lagta hai…..mere bachche tumahre saath bilkul secure the, issliye mujhe wahaan koi chinta nahin thi….arre haan, meri bachchi kahaan hai…meri Vedika?"
"Mamma!" calls out an excited voice from the other room.
"Vedika!" Jassi calls out in delight.
The door opens, and Vedika rushes upon her like a whirlwind. Jassi lifts her into her arms and kisses her heartily. Just then Armaan also enters, and joins in the huggie-kissie session. Meghna enters more sedately, grinning at the scene.
Meg: Kaafi lamba holiday tha na….lekin dekho, humne tumahre peeche sab kuch manage kar liya…..
Angel: Ummm…..sab kuch toh nahin….mujhe abhi bhi Vedika ka bag theek se pack karna nahin aaya hai….but yes, achchi training thi!
Vedika: Mamma, Papa…mujhe aapko kuch dikhaana hai!
JandA together: Kya?
Meg: Abhi nahin…pehle aap dono fresh ho jao, breakfast kha lo, rest kar lo, uske baad…..humne aap dono ke welcome ke liye chhoti-si planning ki hai!
