EVENT HORIZON / Chapter 3

I will not open the door, again she thought, but what she very well know is: she will open the door.She is angry with him but not at the moment, after seeing that: he is drenching in the rain --

She wasted some five more minutes, contemplating: weather to open the door or not but imagining his image in the rain made her take a decision: to open the door.

She gingerly opened the door, only to see him at her door step, that was covered with the roof top yet the incessantly drizzling rain from side ways: drenched him completely.
She gulped at her sight before taking a step back, to give some room for him.

"You shut the door on my face!" he sternly said before stepping inside." I guess this is one another thing: only you can do with me,-- will you ever stop doing such unique things".. he was wiping his face, with his palm as Ishita closed the door behind him.

"This is my place and that is my door, I can do anything I want," she replied, her gaze shifted from his face to his hands as he was rolling up his sleeve, just an inch above his elbow.He can only look that much of handsome,while doing even such a mundane and simple thing.

"Oh, so, you've stopped, ignoring me" he said as he realized that she replied him, for which she bit her tongue, looked other side, flustered.

"Why're you here," she asked him but he didn't give any reply, he looked around and decided to sit in a near by sofa but before he could do that he listened her:

"Wait!"

"What?," "If you're going to say that, this is your sofa, then I already know that: this is your Sofa" he irritatingly looked at her.

"It's not that, you're wet, I'll bring a towel for you.." she said , she was about to turn around but he caught her elbow, twirled her: and now she was pressed against his chest."What're you doing?" she was surprised by this: all the sudden, and unexpected act from him. He wrapped his arms around her, but she kept her fists against his chest trying to maintain some space,struggling in the while; "Stay still,..Don't you want to know, how I felt out side" his voice came as a dangerously low whisper: which made her still in his hold; his grip on her increased some more, and now she is plastered against him.

"Some times , I wonder: why should I take all this shit from you!" he said; the wetness of him was dripping against her, as it is slowly getting into her, chillness is seeping into her along with some pain."Raman!" she whispered."Don't talk; this is my scene, and don't enter into my scene: where you don't have any dialogues" He said before pressing her more to him. That wasn't any coherent talk from his side but he isn't in any proper mind to talk normal.

After some few seconds he felt her shivering: just a little bit but that little bit was enough for him to regret whatever he was doing, he unwrapped his hands , almost abruptly, and moved a bit back.

"You're reading The Hindu? Really.." Raman asked her, who sat opposite to to him, but not caring about his existence in the room; she is reading news paper.

"Can you read it a loud, I want to listen," he asked her again, though he wasn't interested about any other things happening around the world, at least right at the moment; he asked her because he wanted to listen her voice as her silence is not something he possibly can bear.

"I can't read all, but I can summarize,"--"The great, greater and greatest Raman Kumar Bhalla, who is the alumni of IIM, who did his PHD from Harvard, who had worked as professor at University of Chicago and who recently elected as the Chief economist,-- whose advices are important for world bank: how much money to be lend for poor countries of the world, who can control inflation in the dollar value,,"

"What do you want to say," he ran his fingers through his hair; but her flow didn't stop, she continued:

"--was invited by IIM, Ahmedabad, for a guest lecture: is open for all, any MBA student in India can apply and selected students according to their merit can attend-" pause..
"And the writer of this article is my school friend, she called me yesterday and asked me to ask you: weather you've any thoughts to enter into bollywood because: she finds you very handsome, and she really want to write more on you but education related things wouldn't be given much space so-- and she even asked me about Politics.." she completed her talk, her voice was as sarcastic as ever.

"What's the point," Raman asked her not getting what exactly she is saying.

"Is this why you left me? So that you can become successful, powerful and," now her voice was very low or rather that was just a mumble, unsure even.

"Wait.. What? I left you? and for this reason.. have you lost your mind?" he almost shouted, he was surprised by the intensity in his own voice, he wasn't intended to shout that loud but that was instinctively came.

Raman buried his face in his palms, as the memories of that fateful day in his life, surged through his brain all the way back from past, quite blurred yet never erased:

They were in their final semester of their academics; And that was one special day; special because it's his birth day:

Ishita was at the door step of Raman's room, with a chocolate cake in her hands, which she specially baked for him. The moment he opened the door, she hugged him with one hand, balancing the cake in another hand; she wishpered a happy birth day lovingly, before kissing on his cheek. If she expected any hug back, any kiss back, or any other reaction that she usually gets from him: nothing came. He moved back, surprising her; She steppe in only to be surprise more because: there she saw a middle aged women and a man. Any one can easily recognize that they're Raman's parents because their looks are similar to him.

Ishita slipped into the chair which is opposite to them. "Raman you never told me about any Ishita Iyer," Mrs Bhalla's voice broke the awkward silence in the room.

"She is my class mate mom, she often comes to my room for notes and other stuff," he replied; Ishita's piercing gaze made him feel guilt for saying like that.She is definitely not some one, whom he can introduce to his parents just as a class mate; She is much more than that. Isn't she?

"Ishita Iyer means: are you a south Indian?" Mrs.Iyer asked, her voice was distant, as if being a south Indian is the biggest crime on earth.

"Yes!" Ishita replied, feeling very uncomfortable which reflected in her voice.

"What are you planning for next, studies, job or marriage?" Mr.Bhalla voice suddenly came.

"I have not planned anything yet" Ishita doesn't know why is she facing this interview.

"Raman is going to do his PHD in Harvard, he recently got a interview call" Mr.Bhalla proudly said.

"And we're thinking about his marriage, some time around next year, after his PG, with Shagun Arora, she is a PUNJABI" Mrs.Bhalla said, stressing the word punjabi in her sentence.

"Oh! I don't know all these things about Raman, and I don't think any need to know because I'm just a classmate. I got to go" she hurriedly stood up, she know that she was being rude with them, but she felt that she couldn't listen what they're saying. She left that place.

He took her in his arms, his fore head is touching hers.

"Let me explain please"

"You applied for PHD? you never told me"

"My dad applied that, I didn't expect mine will be shortlisted for interview"

"Are you going to marry that certain Punjabi girl?"

"Even I came to know that today, I don't know they were thinking anything like that?"

"I'm just an another classmate to you?"

"Of course no, My family is quite orthodox, they can't take this if I suddenly say anything about us, I thought to explain them slowly"

"Slowly? when? after your marriage with some one, after your PHD? after..." her voice was choked,"I'm hating myself for being in your arms, when all I wanted to do is to slap you; you told me I'm loving you and so as you.. If this is love.. why it's hurting me so much, why you're lying like that"

"Leave me" she was struggling in his hold now.

"Ishita please."

"Your hold is hurting me Raman. Please leave me. Will you?" and then, he left her.
"I wish you were just a stranger whom I met once in a library but never met again, I wish I can forget everything."

"What are you saying" he looked at her unbelievable."I will talk to my parents today about us, please don't talk nonsense" he continued.

"You think, everything is about you? why should my world revolve around yours, I do have parents too, they might have some dreams about me.I think we don't meant to be together, I'm feeling like I don't fit in your life.Let's forget everything. I guess this is just an attraction which is something like gravitation that has a boundary, and that is this campus" she said before leaving.

And the next six months of their campus life, every time he tried to talk with her, she ignored him. That was the day of convocation , officially the last day: If Raman expected her to talk at least at that moment he got nothing but her ignorance again,.

A hiccup from her side made him look at her, tears are pooling down from her eyes.
"Why're you crying now? Just because you're crying and I'm not doing that doesn't mean I'm not feeling to do that" he seriously replied but the very next moment headed towards her and side hugged her--

superb update.👏👏This was emotional. I felt bad for both of them. Awww he so wanted her response ,to be with her,close to her. He tried to talk waiting for response. Desperate for attention😳 They misunderstand each other. She thought he was not serious. But she should understand his position too na. He cant seriously suddenly tell his parents about his girlfreind. Okay this make u realise i am on Raman side😳. Yes surely . Let them clear mu with some romantic encounters😳. Ishra will be united. We can see jealous rkb with some other professor hovering around iyer. Will be waiting for next update. Please update your other story too.

Wonderful update poor IshRa but all of the sudden they just broke up in few mins not fair but cute love story hope it completes soon well did raman married shagun or is he yet waiting for ishita ?
