Too many people were using cuss words on the sets of Kasturi, of late. Now, director Gary Bhinder has found an enterprising way to put a stop to it. One day, recently, he announced a fine of Rs 100 each time anyone is caught using cuss words on the sets of Kasturi. Well, the abusing reduced, but didn't stop. For, in a few hours, Gary collected Rs 1800.
"People on the sets have been using abusive words in English and Hindi regularly. And it's not just the men, the women do the same too. Thanks to Gary, now everyone tries not to use those words. However, sometimes actors are caught unawares. It's funny how these people are comfortable hurling abuses at each other," says our source.
From what we hear, actress Shubhangi Atre is rather sensitive and was really shocked to see people abuse each other. "She broke down on several occasions when casually abused, as she is very sensitive. This is also one of the reasons why the director imposed the fine," adds our source.
Shubhangi Atre says, "All this abusing on the sets was a shock for me initially. But, now working conditions have improved. And I am loving it."
Gary Bhinder, the man behind the innovative scheme, says, "This is an attempt to make the working environment on the sets a healthy one." When asked about the offenders, he says, "I cannot name the offenders in the interest of my unit. The actors are not using those words any more and everyone is enjoying the pleasant environment on the set. I have collected Rs 1800. I hope I don't get any more money."
Our source names the defaulters. "Among the actors, Priya Arya, Karan Patel, Nikhil Arya made it to the list. Besides that, unit members have been fined," says our source. Apparently, as the situation stands now, people have been retiring to their make-up rooms to let off steam by abusing, instead of doing so on the sets.
