She has 3 purposes to serve
1. bringing Rudra in Allahabad
It is already done but she has 0 credit here .. the only thing she did was telling Balivesh about Mai Mui what led to the most painful incident of the show
2. Romancing Rudra
is it absolutely needed to force a louv story in such a unique show?.. even if it is must for Hindi shows, then serve it properly. Their falling in love is simply not convincing. It is like we are forced to believe they are falling in love, they are in love n blah blah. They didn't even make a good friend forget being in love [not even talking about chemistry .. the actress is no match to Gautam n I didn't watch Saraswatichandra so don't judge it in that way]
3. She will be the obstruction between Rudra n his life's aim
For now she is only restricting the pace of the story and gravity of script. She is simply not needed not even for serving this purpose .. Rudra's dadi, Maa, friends anybody could play the very role
Finally, If Maya was so important why not making her smart and strong woman .. by strong I don't mean physically strong. Kat serves that part well .. you could show her intelligent enough to assist Shivanand, tech-shavy girl, or she is a student of History so you could made so many things out of her but NO you had to show her as a TYPICAL Damsel in Distress .. who cries and cries even more .. Why can't you make a Felicity Smoak .. why Indian girls must be shown as Bechari Abla Nari .. Grrr
CVs I give you 100/10 when it comes to characterization of Shivanad, Rudra, Charles and yes Kathrine [good or bad she is definitely strong n interesting] but you failed to bring a potential female lead .. so it will be good to use her as Hindi film's heroins where heroins pop up in a few song sequences n disappear as soon as song ends
