Apart from Khans, is Ranbir the only bankable star in Bollywood?

That Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan andAamir Khan get cash registers jingling is known to all! Their star power is such that filmmakers don't have to worry about box office figures. While its almost impossible to replace the three ruling Khans of Bollywood, Ranbir Kapoor is one actor, who in the recent years, has not only managed to impress the audience and critics with his versatility but has proven he can pull in crowd to the cinema halls as well. His latest release Roy is testimony to that fact. Despite critics panning the film left, right and center, the romantic thriller has raked in good money at the box office.

In six days, Roy has collected Rs 39.04 crore at the domestic box office which is indeed impressive. Yes, the film mainly stars Arjun Rampal and Jacqueline Fernandez but RK surely has bigger fan following than these two. So its pretty obvious who must have drawn the audience to the theaters, no?

That's not all! Ranbir didn't even promote the film except for turning up at few events that too when his film was just around the corner. Also, he is there in the film for hardly 15 minutes or so. Despite all of this, Jr Kapoor got the film a good opening. In fact, Roy is biggest opener of 2015 so far. So that certainly says a lot of about RK and his growing star power, hai na?

As for his contemporaries, well, Kill Dil which was piggy backed on Ranveer Singh tanked at the box office and Arjun Kapoor's Tevar also failed to make any impact at the BO. There is Varun Dhawan too whose upcoming film Badlapur has created great buzz. But will bring in big moolah? Only time will tell!

Also, while most of the B-town hunks from the current lot are making their presence felt big time on social media, Katrina Kaif's beau on the other hand, is neither on social platforms nor is he spotted at events too often. And this whole staying away from limelight' funda has somehow worked in his favour. He lets his work do all the talking and that's becoming his USP.
