The director of "NH10" Navdeep Singh had approached Anushka Sharma to do the film two years back, but since Anushka was going to be very busy with five consecutive projects, she told the director that if they didn't have any other actress as back up they should wait for her. But if they find someone else they could go ahead.Navdeep, who was not sure if he could wait for long, approached Freida Pinto and Sonam Kapoor with the script in the meanwhile, but things didn't work out with them. Later, when Anushka was shooting with Anurag Kashyap for "Bombay Velvet" she mentioned to him about Vikramjit's script. Anurag, who was planning to produce the film under his banner Phantom Films asked Anushka if she was interested and she said that she was interested in the film even back then and now she could work her dates out.

Aww how sweet so called equal opportunity bashers coming to Shona baby's rescue, who otherwise scream 'PR PR' like a loon when it comes to DP.

How cringe-worthy was Anu mouthing her 'let's make mad love' dialogue, it would be twice the horror coming from Sonam who talks like a kid asking Daddy dearest for candy. 😆
