Recently, Anurag Kashyap unveiled the first look of Bombay Velvet on Twitter, which generated a great amount of buzz. The trailer is quite intriguing, to say the least. Bombay Velvet is among the most highly anticipated films of this year - it's Anurag Kashyap's love letter to old Bombay.

After watching the trailer, we suggest five things why we all should look out for in the Ranbir Kapoor-Anushka Sharma starrer.

Grandeur Sets

Talking about Bombay Velvet and the film's delay, Anurag had said, "When Bombay Velvet trailer will be out, people will realise the money spent and why the film got delayed. It took time to executeBV because it's a costly film. 70 per cent of the production money of BV is actually spent on the film and not on the individuals. Bombay Velvet is big and massive. I've created an entire Mumbai city set and to create that takes time." We agree with Anurag as the film feature huge replicas of Mumbai and several popular areas of aamchi Mumbai in a retro look. In Kashyap's own admission, "You'll get to see Rs 200 crore in the trailer itself - forget about the film."

Vintage Appeal

There's no denying that Bombay Velvet is Anurag Kashyap's costliest film of his career so far and the filmmaker has taken great care to assure the film looks set in late 1960s. Everything looks very authentic - right from the fashion of the time to the cars of the era. The trailer successfully takes us back to the bygone era.

Anurag Kashyap's films are mostly known for their narrative and dialogue. And from whatever we saw in the Bombay Velvet trailer comes across as Anurag's exemplary take on human relationships. Ranbir, who plays street fighter Johnny Balraj, has got some interesting dialogue that can become cult.
