Raincoat - A melancholic love-story. I loved the film. It beautifully depicted the love story of two ex-lovers who pretend to have moved on.

Chameli - Extremely unusual for Bollywood. While the film primarily focussed on the life of the prostitute, it did have a subtle hint of romance or affection between the lead pair. Wonderfully underplayed.

Highway - Stockholm syndrome is well-known but few movies manage to make it look as convincing as Imtiaz did in Highway.

Pinjar - A beautiful tale of love between the captor and the captee. The partition of 1947 as the backdrop just adds to the beauty of this film.
