The original Khiladi Kumar is back in action. After beginning his career with action films, and now with a spate of comic hits to his credit as well, Akshay is all set to return to his favourite genre – action. The actor, who's delivered some great comic hits lately doesn't believe he's concentrating on one genre. "No, I think I've done everything. I've tried my luck in every genre. But it's been six years since I've done action, and I'm planning to get back into action mode again. It's a film titled Made in China and it's being directed by Nikhil Advani. It will begin next year."
The actor, in fact, is so kicked about the idea that he plans to go a step beyond the current trend. "The kind of action I'm going to do in Nikhil's film, I'm going to change the way people look at action," informs Akshay. "I'm excited about the prospect. When I came into the industry, I started the trend of martial arts, doing my own stunts, and cable work. Now my next film will totally change the look of action in films. It's not going to involve cable work. It's going to be more than that. It's going to be based on body movements."
So is he going to undergo rigorous training for this new style of action? "Yes, I'm going to train myself for this. I don't know whether you've seen the new cola ad I did recently, where I'm jumping from stairs and stuff. That's what I'm looking at, and much more than that. I will be breaking away from the current style completely."
Talking about 'breaking away', we hear Priyadarshan was pretty upset when the sequel to Hera Pheri happened. "He was never upset. If that was the case, I would never have been in his next film Bhool Bhulaiya ."
With his birthday coming up, what were his plans? "I think I'll be with my family in Canada for my birthday. I'm looking forward to it," he says as he signs off.
