Post the tragic death of the male protagonit Shiv, his wife Anandi has given birth to twins and now the story has taken a 10 year leap. The twist in the tale: in a dramatic turn of events Anandi's little daughter will be forced into a child-marriage in the upcoming episodes, leaving the family heartbroken.
For actors it's a mixed experience to sport elderly characters. Says Shashank Vyas, "For me Balika Vadhu has been a workshop. I have played a teenager, a collegian, a responsible professional and politician. As an actor it is essential to move beyond one's comfort zone. Playing a character elder than my real self is a new challenge for me."
