The same chauvinistic family brought up a wonderful kid named Ruhi. What is Ruhi today, most of the credit goes to Toshiji. Yes, Toshiji now lost her mind but she's the one who brought up Ruhi.

A mother can raise two children and they might turn out quite different , it's nothing new. You might make fun out of it but the fact remains Toshiji brought up Ruhi for 6 years. When Ishita was nonexistent in Ruhi's life, Ruhi was the same Ruhi who was as much sweet, down to earth and intelligently apprehensive as she's now. Who was responsible for it then? It's not that Ishita reformed Ruhi later. You might wanna ignore the fact but that won't change its significance.
