yes in old hindhi films actors mostly speaked in urdu as compare to new actors they had a good command on hindhi as well as urdu ...
my grandfather is a huge fan of old hindhi movies he had a huge collection of old hindhi songs & mostly listen them in morning in full volume ... we have no choice but to wakeup early then 😆
in old hindhi films i've watched Mugl e Azam & Pakeezah they are classic ⭐️

That time it was mixed language Hindi and Urdu both were spoken ,still there are mixture of Hindi and Urdu. This is also one of the rfeason for Zindgi getting popularity as its stories are simple and and reminds people of DD ,s early days serials .

This might be also one of the reason that Zindgi channel is getting popularity because of its simple stories without any trash . Hello , i think you had some other id before as i read in Sanam,s thread . Yes you are right , earlier there was mix of Urdu and Hindi a well . And many were very reputed Urdu poets / lyricist that time and Lyrics were meaningful whether in Hindi or Urdu . I have used old songs om ZGH and HS as both shows characters are mine muse . And thats why can understand some of Urdu words as i translate them in to English . But no doubt Urdu has its own essence .
