Why is Ali so desperate to be Gautams Bro?

Ali has been desperate to be one of the boys ever since he arrived but his approach has been wrong. Rather than strengthening and uniting the boys he's always spread vitriol to divide and get in the good books of one or two. He always looked for approval and acceptance from Puneet and even stated directly to Puneet that he wants to be mentored by Puneet the way P2G was. Then he immediately doubted his mentors sincerity by going and telling Upen we will never be included in P3G. His own self doubt has been his undoing. Pritam also displayed some if this too when he'd deflect blame on Gautam rather than confront Puneet because he wanted the same affection that Gautam enjoyed. So he constantly tried to put down Gautam in front of Punz. Gautam's sincerity and loyalty never deterred despite all this.

Pritam and Ali are unravelling now. They have no mental stamina.
