Comments from the judges plays a big role on the votes. Anu Malik favors Ankita because she is a good performer - is the Indian Idol contest for the best performer or the best singer? Ankita is a good singer but then others are equally good too. Ankita focuses more on performance than her singing and the judges and the voters should keep in mind that what are we voting for? a performer or a singer??

yepp...i agree..anu malik ji is biased towards ankita...i consider her a relly gud performer but an okay singer..
indial idol is a singing compettion so i dunt understand wat she is styll doin here...

i agree!!
idol is a singing conpt..not based on performances..performences jsut add an bonus..which is OK..as long as the performer knows how to sing..
there are better singers than the "performer" we currently have...why is she still therE?

anu is..BLAH. 😡

I vote for the best singer. Abhijeet Sawant was not much of a performer when he participated, but learnt it after winning. Performance can be learnt in a few weeks after you win the title, but singing takes years to learn.

Performance to me is not dance alone...its the capability to interact with the audience and keep them entertained. So ideally I would love the winner to have the best of both...but with more priority to singing. Eg; Karunya...he was good at both! He acc. to me has been the best II candidate till date - unmatched so far! Sad that we have lost the ability to recognize and reward real talents these days.

Like someone said in of the posts that Ankita is a PLAYER and I totally agree with that - she is out to please the Judges mainly Anu M than the Indian Idol fans. I have said that in the past that Indian Idol contest is for best singer and not for best performer if the contestants have both then great but you can not continue to stay for your performance only and that is why Ankita has been still here and most of all Anu Malik favors Ankita more.

performance is new term in II

last two seasons it was x factor(Farah's dictionary) now in II3 all have that x factor in one way or other.

so now they concentrate more on performance

but tell me amit/emon/prashant/chang/and of course Puja so called any performance.

why only ankita should do performance and performance is bla blah blah and you dont want to sing good.

I think singers can be trained to perform and even if they can't they can have background performers. Performers who can't really sing are usually in the movie industry where they serve their latkes and jhatkes while music is played in the background. Ankita's big problem is that she thinks more about performance and less about singing, she should expand her talents into the tv or film line and not into singing.
