III - The Ideal Indian IDOL

There are lots of interesting topics posted on how judges and ppl want their indian idol to be - looks, singing performance . Everyone have their opinon on what it should be. I want to look at a different perspective. For me, i want an indian idol :-
1. if i close my eyes and listen to him/her whther in audiotorium among a mass, or on my headpones privately, it makes me sing with him. Not because of choice of songs, but the way it is sung.
2. One who can give life to even worst composed songs..
3. Emotes with me. If i am in the mood to be happy, it can make me dance and jhoomm..If sad, it can bring tears to my eyes..

I know i m asking for too much, but then please think deep from your heart and truly think what is the reason for this competition - the decision is in our hands not the judges. we are not looking for perfect singer in terms of sur, tal and technicalities. we are looking at someone who can reach to us and touch our souls..which is what music is all about. For me, Amit Paul is the closest to achieving this goal since the very initial stages of this show even before he was eliminated. He has grown superbly with each song. He may or may not have performance in terms of facial expressions or dance etc, but i think it has hardly mattered. since his voice just lingers even after he has finished singing and u r left yearning for more..this is the beauty of the ideal indian idol for me.. hey freinds , please let me know what you think ? i would love to hear all your opinions....

for me its emon....hez the bestest...the guy is sooo consistent yaar

to me it is amit and was deepali. Emon is good as well.

Well based on what you said, for me it has to be Amit, Emon and Puja now. I have not heard Amit and Emon singing any sad songs that touched me but Puja's tujhse naraaz, ek pyaar ka nagma, and sajna touched my heart. Even if I had to hear the song Ni Main Samaj Gayi with closed eyes, I would have still loved it as much.Next, Amit has the most soothing voice. He could make any romantic number a chartbuster. I could listen to any of his songs with my eyes closed and still appreciate his singing. Same goes for Emon. His is pyaar ko and teri deewani touched me the most. And he's only 18. I'm sure as he gets older, his voice will get better.

I only see these 3 having a career in playback singing among those left.

yup same here...but even, other than romantic songs, when i heard Amit's mp3 of the Omkara track, it really didn't sound bad..to me, he could've sang the original and i would've liked it..
