Song bank of C 2007: do u like it?

How you feel about the songs being sung in C 2007.....

You think majority are of one kind:sufi or sad songs and they are going overboard with it and need better variety. Do you feel the variety is pretty good.

What kinda songs would u want to be added in the song bank if you would like to make any changes.

That is an ineresting question. I doubt Aditya may be picking up all the songs. He may be picking up his own song which he dances to.Perhaps Director of the show and mentors may be giving contestants some guidelines the songs they could pick.Just my opinion.

I find the themes to be very very generic, and hence gives the contestants an opportunity to stick to a genre that they are good at.. hence it becomes very very repitative... I would certainly like to see more focussed themes, where we actually get to see the diversity of singing...

The other thing that I am finding irritating with all the shows, including this one, is that the same song is being attempted by the contestants of different shows in consecutive weeks, or within 2-3 weeks.. 'Rut aa gayi re', 'Mast', 'Jawani Jaaneman', 'Kailasa', 'Is pyaar ko main', 'Maiyya Maiyya', 'Nisha', 'Rasmein Ulfat ko nibhaye', 'Shakalaka baby', 'Omkara'... the list probably goes on and on... As if, all the show houses want to prove a point that my contestants can sing it better than the other... I think, really uncalled for!

Jaya, I agree with u about the themes being very generic. Infact I feel from the beginning itself they shud've created such a format, with different kinds of themes for each week..like for eg. slow romantic, sufi, party/item songs, classical, etc. so that they could test the versatility of the singers.

Now since the themes are so loosely based, the singers get a chance to stick to their comfy zones and the MDs have these repetitive arguments among themselves on the versatility topic..
