Sonu Nigam, who has been staying out of the media glare for more than a year now, is back. The singer will be making a special appearance in Sony's current season of Indian Idol 3.

The singer is quite impressed by the young talent in Indian Idol 3. According to a source in the production house, Sonu has expressed his desire to be a part of the show. Needless to say, the production house is more than happy to have Sonu on. Sonu, who has just become a proud father, is in the US at present with his family. He will be flying back to India next week to shoot for the episode.

Sonu was one of the three judges in Indian Idol for the last two consecutive seasons along with Anu Malek and Farah Khan. While Farah opted out of the show to complete her film Om Shanti Om, Sonu could not be part of the show due to his shows abroad.

if this is trueeee den i hope emon deepali puja and amit are safeeeeeee this week!!! he has to hear these 4 sing 😃

but sonu has another set of concerts going on now 😕 how will he manage to reach the shooting which is on saturday 😕 he needs to be abroad esp on saturday 😕

He can't replace anyone so probably a guest judge.

Wow. This is the best news. I pray and hope that Amit, Emon, Deepali and Puja remain as I really want to hear his comments on these 4. I espcially want to hear what he will say about Emon and the voice resemblance. I'm going to pray that this news is true.
