high salaries, fancy gadgets, expensive clothes and great cars don't always give what makes life peaceful for me.

so my answer is no. i wouldn't want to live there. 😳

There is no place like apna des. I mean when we live aborad, we think that we fit in with citizens of that country,.....but do we really? I personally believe that if i were living in India...i would spiritually be more happier...cause i fit in with the people and everything else.....traditions, rituals and the religous part.....Also, Indian or Pak people are born aborad think that they fit in with other people, but what if those people reject them.
In the high school that I went to, there was an indian guy whose born here in US. He hated Indians...(he actually said that) and thought that he was pure white....and was friends with white people....what sadden me was that those white people talked bad about him when he wasn;t around....called him indian and made fun of him......we ( all the indians) felt bad for him....that even though he rejected being an indian....for us he was still indian.............This story doesn;t go to just him....i knew many people that did this cause i have changed schools many time.......... But people in oour country except us for who we are............

but one can always go against this.....For example...in India there is alot of rejection for people from the different castes.........

In most of the nations, life is too order, meaning you mostly do the same thing each day(fro example...kids, they get up at 6.30, go to school, came home, do HW, play and go back to sleep). But in India, life is kind of unpredictable. Anything can happen in one day. Thats what excites me about India.

Great topic.. 👏

Cost of living is really high in America especially in states like New York, Chicago, California where studio apartments are going for $1400 monthly.. with just one bedroom, eat in kichten and a small living room area.. ! New York City itself is the most expensive area to live in new york..! 10-15 years ago rents were stable and affordable apparently they skyrocketed over the past couple of years..

Reasons for increases i think are the massive imigrant population and the more and more people and bussinesses coming to NY every day..

NY being the the World Financial Capital also contributed a great deal to this increase.. apartments and offices spaces in Manhattan even go for $3000 to $5000 monthly in addition to any utility expenses..

We have been living in NY for about 20 years and the changes are drastic..A lot of people who cant pay there house mortgages (2000 to 3000) often end up going bankrupt or the banks/mortgage company's seizing there houses..

Benefits of living in such a busy place..

GOooooOd job opportunities.. but highly competitive market.. you have to be best of the best to get a decent job..

Gooood educational opportunities.. NY has over a hundered universities and colleges.. some are ivy leagues.. ie. Cornell NYU.. although if you dont get financial aid the tuition costs are very high.. a semsester at NYU would probably cost you more than $30,000...

Having said that.. i havent been to India but my parents do plan on going there to live in the long run.. they claim..

YOu have relatives there.. the ease of going to see them whenever you want is the most important reason for settling there..

You have huge houses in India although our house hear isnt tht bad but in NY most propertys are 100 * 140 which is really small.. no tension of rent, utilities are minor ..

But negatives of settling in India..

Loot Maar..

Unhealthy living conditions ie. mosquitoes, makhis.. *yuck*

Hella pollution..

More crazy drivers.. narrow streets and roads.. overly populated..

No laws protecting people against unfair treatement.. (right to sue someone)..

I wouldnt live in India.. visiting is ok.. if the duration is less than a month.. otherswise i cant see myself living there..

If you are educated and have a good job.. NY is the place to be for growth opportunties.. 😉

Agian it's everywhere in just in India. Every place has some good stuff and bad stuff. Maybe you just haven't seen the good stuff that India truly has to offer😳

Hella pollution..

US also has alot of pollution espically in bigger cities like LA and NYC.

Wouldn't you say that NY is overpopulated, narrow streets and that most people depend on subways to go and come back from work. There are many crazy drivers here to that kill innocent people.

No laws protecting people against unfair treatement.. (right to sue someone)..

I understand that this does happen in India, but there are a lot of people that do the same here.
