Ankur Pathak & Sanyukta Iyer,Mumbai Mirror | Jan 10, 2015, 12.00 AM IST"Farah's birthday had the vibe of the terrace parties of the '80s and '90s.The food was Indian and when the music stopped, the guests kept up the chatter," a guest told Mirror.
Farhan Akhtar, who also celebrated his birthday yesterday, was in high spirits but cold vibes were felt when Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Karan Johar crossed paths and smiled awkwardly at each other. But the gang of filmmakers, which included Vishal Bhardwaj, Anurag Kashyap, Ronnie Screwvala, Siddharth Roy Kapur and SLB, went berserk as Mithun's Disco dancer played on a loop. "Nobody had seen them dance this way before," exclaimed the guest. Karan shook a leg when Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani echoed through Farah's plush Lokhandwala pad.
The party was momentarily inter rupted when a neighbour complained about the loud music and cops came knocking. "They took the organiser to the Oshiwara police station where he was made to deposit Rs 5000," added the source. "But that apart, it was still a rocking party."
Notable absentees included Farah's Happy New Year star Shah Rukh Khan and Katrina Kaif's live-in partner Ranbir Kapoor.
All the actresses presented Farah with designer bags knowing her obsession with them. Farah's return gifts included cupcakes with '50 years of Farah' iced on them and ashtrays, to use ash you like it!
