Okay atleat we regular girls are under the impression that okay celebrities strave themselves, put on tons of make-up, have proffesional take their pictures that is why they look like that, and we think if we did that we could look like that too... but can you imagine being a celebrity who does that ...that is not eat, exercise all day, put cakes of make-up, get proffesional pictures and then have the magazine compeletly change ur pictures saying you don't look good enough and air-brush photo-shop and make u look perfect... we talk abt the self-esteem of girls who look at these pictures... can you imagine being the celebrity who goes through so much pain of plastic surgery and all and still can't take a "perfect" picture... no wonder so many of them are alcoholics and have many other issues... they probably get married so many times b/c when u r in love early on in the relatioship ...the person u r dating praises u and all.. so they feel confident and think they are beautiful..they constantly need that reassurance...

I really feel all these techniques should not be allowed for the sake of both the young girls who suffer looking at these pictures, and celebrities who are made to forget about their real talent and concentrate on the "beauty" side of things so they can be on the next magazine cover!

The only way to send our message out.. don't buy these magazines!

An analogy... you clean the house all...your mom comes home and says, "oh you missed a spot or u didn't put this is the right place."... u feel so unappreicated and heart broken... now imagine the celebrity who goes through all the work-outs, straving sessions and has the proffesionals tell her she is not "beautiful" enough to not be airbrushed!...

It is vicious cycle... b/c standing up and saying no to airbrushing is basically playing with your career as there are many other girls lined up who would willingly have their picture morphed into who knows what... and we buy these magazines fueling this industry... sad sad sad...

Interesting topic..

It's sad that our society is very much based on the concept of a "perfect" look... Magazine covers are splashed with pics of skinny "beautiful" models... I have seen so many young girls go on a diet just to have that "perfect" model based figure... But, does anyone really bother to find out whether that perfect look has a wonderful heart as well? I doubt it..

Idealistically, looking pretty is not all there is to life. But realisitically, we all want a slim figure and want to look good. I don't think one should go nuts about looking like a star but overall, I feel that outer beauty does give some confidence to the inner self. By this, I don't mean that that's all one needs to think about. Eating and staying healthy enhances the outer look and that in turn, enhances a little bit of the inside. So, I think looking good and healthy is necessary but looking oh-so-pretty all the time is impossible and girls needs to get this straight in their bhejas.

But, doesn't that show we give a lot of imp to outer beauty?
