Mumbai: Superstar Aamir Khan seems to be the biggest star of the Hindi film industry now as his latest release PK' has not only breached all past box-office records but has also successfully set a new benchmark that is going to be hard for anyone to break as the film has become the first one to enter Rs. 300 crore club domestically.
The film inaugurated the new box-office club becoming its first member on January 4 on Sunday. Besides minting Rs. 300 crore in its third week only, the film has also reached around Rs. 600 crore in its worldwide collections.
Widely known film critic Komal Nahta shared the information over micro-blogging website Twitter.
Another renowned film critic Taran Adarsh took to Twitter to share the enormous success of Mr. Perfectionist Aamir Khan's masterpiece.
With such a big success of his latest release, Aamir Khan has become the only actor of the industry who has the courage to try different things and the audiences are certainly loving his attempts. This can be observed with Aamir's past record.
The PK star touched Rs. 200 crore mark with Rajkumar Hirani's 3 Idiots' and with A Murugadoss's Ghajini, he touched Rs. 100 crore mark, both nationally. So, this proves that whenever he tries something untraditional, it works at most of the times and works enormously.
However, PK has attained such a huge success, despite facing lots of criticism and protests from some so-called Hindu organizations which claimed that the flick is hurting their religious sentiments. They have been demanding a ban over the movie.
Well, since its release on December 19, 2014, the film has been riding high on success as it looks like nobody cares what these so-called Hindu religion crusaders say.
The film also stars Anushka Sharma, Boman Irani, Sushant Singh Rajput, Saurabh Shukla and Sanjay Dutt in leading characters.
