While it is known that Priyanka Chopraplays an item girl-turned-politician in Madhur Bhandarkar's Madamjee.

Obviously, the tale closely mirrors the real-life story of an actual star wife, because it is expected to borrow elements from the life of the woman in question, whose husband has gotten himself into some serious trouble.

Says a source, "PeeCee's character inMadamjee used to be an item girl. After she got married to the star, her husband had to personally request and often buy off the titillating footage featuring his wife."

None of the film's team is speaking about their reference point for Priyanka's character, obviously. But there is much secret talk about it within the film industry.

Says a director-friend of Priyanka's, "Her role in Madamjee definitely has prominent shades taken from the star-wife's life. It's not sleazy but it's going to be talked about because everyone will recognise whom PeeCee will play."
