Ranbir Kapoor's screentime in Roy has come under much scrutiny after the news of co-star Arjun Rampal's resentment spread. Though director Vikramjit Singh had earlier mentioned how the former's role got chunkier in the scripting process, the specifications of their respective screen time wasn't out.

However, sources from the production house inform us that Ranbir has nearly an hour's role in the film. "Ranbir has a 55 minute role in the film. He plays the parallel lead opposite Arjun, who is the film's main lead. It's like 'Kal Ho Na Ho' where Saif wasn't exactly supporting cast but almost like the other hero. Roy is a well defined two hero film."
