Will She, Won't She?
It's no longer a secret that Shahid Kapoor and Alia Bhatt have been roped in for Abhishek Chaubey's third venture, Udta Punjab. And we hear that there will be two more actors - a hero and a heroine. Guess what? Chaubey recently narrated the film to Kareena Kapoor Khan as he thinks she suits the character perfectly. We're told that the actress was very impressed with the script and will probably say yes' to the film.
Well, the film has four main protagonists but has been written in such a way that none of them share a single frame with each other during the entire film. Interesting, isn't it?
More On Dangal
We were the first to break the news that Aamir Khan had finally agreed to play a wrestler in Nitesh Tiwari's Dangal being produced by UTV Motion Pictures. In Hindi, dangal' means wrestling competition' and the actor will be going to Haryana to learn the Indian art of kushti.
A source close to the production house reveals, "Now that PK has released, Aamir will get busy with the post-release promotion to be followed by a small break. Once he's back from his break, he will start training for the film. The leading man and director have decided to rein in the length of the film, which will be under two hours."
The source adds that Khan wasn't excited by the script initially, so he took his time to decide on whether to do the film. It was only after Tiwari reworked the script that the actor said yes' to doing the film. Since the film will be short and crisp, the source mentions that there's a possibility that the film will release at the end of 2015. Don't be surprised if, a few months from now, you hear Aamir Khan is back during Christmas with another film.
Paani Will Happen
We all know that Shekhar Kapur's dream project and most ambitious venture is Paani and that, unfortunately, something or other has been tripping up the film. Then, a few months ago, it was announced that Yash Raj Films would produce the film and that they had signed Sushant Singh Rajput as the leading man.
There was no word on the film after that, and there were even whispers that the venture had been shelved. But now we're told by a source close to production house that the film will indeed be made but it will take some time to get off the ground. Turns out that they are grappling with the budget of this super-expensive film. Once they figure out how to bring down the cost of production, the film will roll. According to sources, the film will probably go on the floors once Rajput is done with the shooting of MS Dhoni's biopic, which is being directed by Neeraj Pandey.
Is Farzi Shelved?
Krishna DK and Raj Nidimoru's last film Happy Endingfailed to impress the audience and it seems this has impacted their next film Farzi, for which Eros International had come on board. News making the rounds in the film trade is that the film, featuring Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon, has been shelved.
However, others are saying the film has not been shelved but a tad delayed. Apparently, since Kapoor wants to start shooting for Udta Punjab first, Farzi will go on floors in July/August 2015.
Krishna DK rubbishes both rumours and says, "It's totally untrue. We had a meeting with Shahid a few days ago. We even had a meeting with Eros International and we are going on the floors at the end of January." Hmm.
