chalo sab log take a deep breathe... .I have a theory for this challenge track...
See first of all I would like to make it very clear that I am not trying to justify sahir and him pretending to love arzoo ... đ
before moving on to the spoiler, tell me how many of you remember sahir's blind faith in power of money...his urge to prove that money is everything...the shell of ice he lives in...
do you remember the fashion show conversation, where arzoo said that your bank balance can't decide your "haisiyat" and sahir took it as personal offense ...
do you remember sahir's entry scene how ruthless he was..more than business it looked like he wants to prove his point..he stormed to the end of this but at the very edge arzoo stopped him from doing something that will haunt his soul forever... symbolically offcourse.. please do not forget that just because we saw his human and softer side in Mumbai, he is no more a shark..he is still that ruthless heartless fashion mogul who gave us chills in the very first episode
do you remember sahir's conversation with zaki about soulmates..how he said that love is a beautiful lie and zaki said it's a blessing...rewind that conversation..it just looked like a playful conversation between two siblings but I feel that that covo was nothing but the summary of upcoming episodes
now, after considering all these points..take a look at the upcoming track...sahir is in love but he has trust issues ... he loves her..he wants to trust her but a part of him is scared of betrayal ,thus stopping him from trusting his gut feeling...his heart knows that arzoo is not zeenat but sahir stopped listening to it long back...his mind is too calculative to trust anyone (recall the incident when he refused to trust his sister-in-law over an intern, and also the jail scene). no matter how much he is in love with her..he can't be 100% sure about her..
now comes the expectation part... unknowingly sahir expected many things from arzoo given his feelings for her..he yearned for attention..got really disturbed when she was ignoring him and considered her closeness with zaki a dhoka without analysing why
now look at the current situation, sahir had doubts about zaki and arzoo but he consistently tried to avoid it..(recall jawab mil gaya scene) .. because before the very last second of zaki's confession, the probability of zaki-arzoo equation being a misunderstanding was not zero..and sahir chose to cherish that one percent possibility of it being untrue than facing it and finishing everything in a minute...it says a lot about his state of mind
given that sahir is yet to acknowledge his feeling (recall his mujhe kia farak padta hy dialogue) he will think that he is doing this just to knock some sense into his lil bratty brother... as we know if the person we love choose someone else over us..we do feel betrayed... so with the grudge of "betrayal" and an urge to prove that his mind is extra ordinary đ and to prove himself that he is a pro at judging people and nobody can fool him he will approach arzoo...throwing money at her from left right and centre... and then bam...arzoo will burst his bubble by rejecting him and his lavish party and expensive gifts... telling him that it can't make up for his mistake of not trusting her..
this will break sahir's ice cage and will make him acknowledge his feelings for her.. and he will realise that just because one woman betrayed him doesn't mean that every woman is same..he just can't put all of them in one category..so after this sahir will be madly truly deeply in love with arzoo
