Well, this post is not really related to the show Sadda Haq as such. But I'd like to vocalize my opinions on a certain ad I saw during the Sadda Haq telecast today.
Those of who saw the show at 6.30 tonight must have seen one particular ad by '#VogueEmpower' which went with the tagline 'Ladke nahi rote'. It was such an exposure of harsh reality, isn't it? And the last scene of the ad left me stunned to say the least. I can't say whether I loved or hated the ad but it left me shocked,no doubt!
The closing moments went,'Let's start with the boys' and teach them 'ladke rulaate nahi'. And it's relevance to Sadda Haq is immense. In a world full of MCPs,it is so very important to teach boys that they can cry too but they teach them from childhood that women must be respected which is lacking in India.
As for Sadda Haq,I am glad that the male leads i.e Randhir and Parth are 'real' men. They cry and do not hurt women. Thank you Sadda Haq.I might bad mouth the CVs often but I have to admit. This show has put in a lot of effort to get rid of stereotypes. It really stands a class apart. :)

I always say...why are not men supposed to cry? ...tears are said to be sign of weakness...I say why not shed them? accepting reality is what makes one strong...if you are sad then say it...I am glad Sadda Haq has men like Randhir and Parth who does not feel ashamed of tears, or to accept their emotions...they are what I call real men! ...great post ! 😛

You're ri8 Mimie... That ad is so much related to SH... And it's very essential to spread those words " ladke rulate nahi hai "... And the male leads of SH, all of them are perfect with their flaws coz they knows how to respect a woman... Even Randhir who had been tagged as the 1st MCP of the show is a true man...

Thanks Paro!
and yeah, totally agreed.I wonder why crying is a sign of the 'feminine' and weakness. Even when someone dies, while the women are allowed to cry,men try their best to suppress their emotions. And what's worse is,as the ad showed, their mothers taught them not to cry since it wasn't masculine. Some women must e taught not to teach the wrong things too.
I wonder what's wrong with being emotional..Why would one want to a an emotionless machine like creature? -_-

Exactly! That's the speciality of our Sadda Haq.Despite its flaws,it's still real in most aspects.
And actually if you compare people like Rajveer as the epitome of chauvinism,Randhir was not an MCP at all..His attitude was a mere facade that he purposely used to put up and circumstances had forced him to.
For people like Rajveer and Sameer,it's simply BAD EDUCATION.

So true...whats wrong in being emotional? you know what I rather get to know a person who is emotional and does not shy away from tears rather than get to know a person who is fake and pretends to be emotionless...for heavens sake we are humans and we all have emotions...not showing them would just mean we are fake...while I like the message the ad is sending out...but I have a problem...why say ladke rulate nahi? kisiko bhi ye haq nahi hai ke woh kisi aur ko rulaye ...this should not be gender specific...you know what I think ,if the men showed their emotions and did not hide it then all these violence would end automatically 😳

Yes absolutely. I just have to agree with you.Ladke rulate nahi is a very wrong thing to say but some part of the message is indeed true. Starting with the boys is indeed the right thing to do. I am not really discriminating, but statistical figures have led them to put things this way. But it's ok..If we manage to fulfil even half of what the ad says,it would make a way better
world.
But the problem lies with the way we look at things.Everything in this world has been divided into gender specific roles.I am not saying that I am totally free from patriarchy myself..Sometimes I end of saying stuff which I regret later as being too gender-specific. But I derive a lot of happiness from trying to be as gender neutral as possible.
I just wish that everybody thought liks the ad did,in reality.:(
Btw,since you are such an opinionated person..I'd like to know what you felt about a certain short movie..Have you watched the recent Alia Bhatt short movie of 5 mind directed by Vikas Bahl?
