Lots of topics are being made on how regressive BW films are. Just wanted to know if there are good progressive BW films. Please share if you know any.

Ek Main aur ek tu. Couple of things
No fuss about the girl being older than the guy
No fuss about opposite sex staying together

I hate Luv Storys
Girl earns more than the guy & pays the bills

Lunchbox
Two people leave their sad lonely life behind to find a new one

Have you watched 'No Smoking' by Anurag Kashyap? that was quite progressive for its release year. Most probably didn't understand the movie😆

Ek main aur ek tu
i didn't like the movie much, but i liked the ending. The girl didn't want the relationship and they remained friends. Unlike usual bollywood movies where they would end up together despite the girl not wanting it initially.

Ranjhnaa

Despite kundan's stalking and Persuasion,Zoya didn't agree.👍🏼

Tabu's film astitva...raised some great points about the double standards that exist between men and women when it comes to infidelity and physical desires...

How was Garam Masala progressive? If I remember correctly, Akshay was 3 timing different air hostesses at the same time. And if I am not wrong, John & Akshay were competing to get the girls treating them as though they are some trophy they want to win.

Only a guy can find that kind of film progressive LOL.

The concept on paper - yes. You can't help it if you fall for someone else & then move on in life. But the execution - NO. The execution was horrible that I found it disgusting.
Lunchbox handled the subject better, in the way both leads, esp the female moved on.

Again, I feel that Dostana failed in its execution. The jokes & the way Abhishek/John were made to behave.. i felt like the film was mocking gays. Not all gays need to be girly or weird.
But leaving that aside, it was a funny film.
