The decision to have the baby is more harmful as the repurcussions are grave and dangerous. Point 1) Pia is in trauma and having a baby is going to affect the mental & physical health of both. 2) The child will have no social standing 3) The child will feel degrading when he/she comes to know the truth abt his/her identity. 4) Mother is bound to remember the crime seeing the child so the nurturing will be affected. 5) The adopted father can feel discriminated when they bear own child. 6) It confirms Sridhar's charac assasination of Pia.

at this point of time in Pia's life abortion could have been a very easy option to move on. If she keeps the child, the child would remind her about her trauma all the time. So if she goes for abortion, moves on with another man & start a married normal life again, will help her a lot in forgetting about the rape, & hopefully she'll be happy once again.
But if she keeps the child, which is a very courageous choice here, which will happen in the serial too,
1. the child will remind her about the incident
2. the whole 9 months process is just not easy
3. being a single parent is another very hard thing
4. lots of other points 'realitybites' have mentioned up there

but there is another positive side of becoming a mom is that a child can give you so much joy that a woman can never experience before, the unconditional love that a mother feels for her child, a child can help her move on & have this kind of joy in her life, & believe me a child can keep the mother so busy & forget about everything alse in the world, loss of memory is very common among moms :-)
