Dr. Dayal was the best dad, a friend and confidante, a moral support for his adoptive daughter.

He lost his only child Durga but then he found a helpless and critically injured Nitya, gave her a new life, a new identity as his own daughter. He gave her every kind of support, moral, financial, social to set out on her path to avenge her family.

Even in the face of death, he was laughing at Shaurya and taunting him. He wasnt afraid of dying as he knew he would meet his daughter in heaven. 😭 He thinks he has done whatever he could to help Durga and Dev can take his place as her strength and moral support.

I think Dayal's daughter, the real Durga was rather headstrong and stubborn. She probably had a huge fight with Dayal as he wanted her to change her ways and settle down as any concerned parent would. But the real Durga left home in anger, she had an accident and died. Dayal felt deeply guilty abt his only child's death.

But ironically another accident gave him a replacement daughter, Nitya, who became Durga for him. He had the same love, concern, affection for Nitya as he had for his own child. And till the moment of his death he never regretted his decision to be the refuge for Nitya.

He never gave up on her and still believes she would take revenge as planned. Now Nitya/Durga has to be strong and justify his faith in her!

Bhupinder Singh was simply superb in the role of Dr. Dayal. He had the serene dignity, the charismatic and towering personality that befits such a powerful role. Dayal's biting retorts to the Goenkas, his unflinching courage and calm demeanour in the midst of crisis were always impressive!

He has given a powerful performance as Dayal. We will always remember Dr. Dayal's character and miss his presence in the show!

The writers have been tweaking the script and from the way the story started moving , it seems like their claims of pre-written stories is not holding good . Most of the storyline looks like its being inserted according to the need of the hour .

It would have been better if they showed the man behind the cancer project was a cancer patient himself but he never revealed it to Durga. This way they could have explained why Dayal love DUrga so much and is also helping her in such a dangerous game. This would have also explained why he wanted DevGa marriage although he knew marriage is the last thing for Durga now.

Sharuya killing him is still a stupid thing to do.

Indeed Bhupinder Singh was sidelined and given raw deal for one guy whosename he kept chanting till end!

Infact in last few months all characters were sidelined for this guy. Whole story was made a joke for this guy.

In July we had a poll and everyone agreed Dev D killed the show. Now proven beyond doubt that he and producer-writer's obsession with him killed it. They could have made a smarter character too but killed time on repetitive flashbacks and confusions.

Rather I say talent of every actor was wasted for him. Now villains will go in most idiotic and unbelievably abrupt ways too. Whole show put on the line, lead also watered down for one man!
