CHAPTER-1

Dedication- Taareymyjaan, meenutaarey

~*~

"Mom, I am back!" A beautiful girl walked inside her house. She had waist long, black hair. Her eyes were the definition of beauty. Her eyes were a color if brown. It was ordinary to have brown color, yet something in her eyes made her look different. Her voice was not like some melodious singers', but still, it was captive. Long, slim figure just added the grace to her beauty.

"Hey, honey. How was school?" A woman in her thirties emerged from the kitchen. She walked to her daughter who was now slumped on the couch, easing her tiredness. She looked at her daughter and admired her beauty. She looked like an angel. Flashes of her adolescence came running her mind. Taani, her daughter, looked exactly like she looked in her teenage years.

Taani, who felt her mom's presence, opened her eyes and smiled at her mom from the couch. "Not much. But, we will soon be having our trip. I was waiting for it for so long." Her eyes twinkled with excitement. The curve on her face doubled. On other hand, her mom smiled seeing her daughter happy. At thirty nine, Archana still loved her daughter so much. She cared for her. She had given her life for her daughter. She has nothing to live for, but her. Life has been cruel on her and she did not wanted her daughter to suffer the way she did.

She took a seat beside her daughter, and placed her hand on her head. Taani's eyes opened instantly. "I don't have issues with it, baby. But, it should not affect your studies. You know how important is it for you to study hard and become a doctor, right?" She caressed her cheeks. Taani, who had a real grin painted on her face, now changed to a sham one. Her eyes averted to other things in the living room; a large, flat screen T.V., the cream-ish color of the walls, the black clock hanging towards her right.

Taani shifted her gaze back to her mom. Her face sulked at the mention of her future. She never wanted to become a doctor. She was actually interested in dancing and drawing. But above all, she yearned to become a writer. But, she could not deny her mom. She knew her mom had kept herself at stake for her. Her mom destroyed her life for her. She could not live with the burden of knowing that she could not give such a small thing that her mom wished for. For so many years of taking care of her, she can't give such a small thing in change?

"Yes, mom. I need to take a shower and finish my home work, please." Saying so, she walked out of the room. Archana watched her leaving the room. Once she was out of sight, she heaved a sigh. Why? She thought. Her face was blank. A whistle of cooker brought her out of her trance. Taking a deep breath, she stood up to resume her work.

~*~

A new sunrise brought the starting of a new day. Sun peered through the window of medium sized bedroom. Walls were painted with a shade of baby pink. A wooden cupboard placed on the right. Small dressing table with a human length mirror stood on the left. In the middle was a medium sized bed, on which laid a sleeping beauty- Taani.

Beep. Beep. Beep.

A loud voice of alarm clock echoed in her room disturbing her sleep. Groaning, she snuggled more in her pillow.

Beep. Beep. Beep.

"You can never stay quiet, right?" Her voice was raspy, making it sexier than ever. Her eyes were sleepy. SCHOOL! Slowly, she got up from her bed, and moved to her bathroom. Lazily, she got dressed. Once, she was dressed in a pair of black, skinny jeans; white tank top and sneakers, she peered a look at mirror. I am glad twelfth-s are allowed to wear casuals. Hard to believe Mumbai can have optimistic thinking, she thought. After applying a little kohl and mascara, she took a hold of her lip gloss. After done with it, a little perfume and her watch came in list. Once done with all, she got a hold of her bag and moved down giving a quick glance at her wrist watch. 7:03, she still had another ten minutes before she walked to her school.

"Good morning, baby. Breakfast is ready!" Her mom's chirpy voice greeted her once she was out in dining hall.

"Morning to you too, mom." She sat on the chair, placing her bag on the side chair.

Once done with her breakfast, she walked inside the kitchen. After keeping the dirty utensils in sink, she turned her attention to her mom, who was busy doing her daily chorus in kitchen. She went towards her and kissed her bidding a quick bye.

~*~

Walking to school was her favorite part. She actually had the time to think for everything that happens in her life. Call her philosophical, but life made her this way. She was way too depressed, but never let it linger on her face if she was with someone. Something that she preferred was making others happy. What if I can't be happy? Let's make others happy, were here usual lines to boost herself.

Walking towards her destination, she looked around admiring the morning sun and cool breeze of April morning. New semester had just begun. The last year of her school, after which, everything will change for her. I am going to miss my freedom.

~*~

Entering the school premises, she had a feeling of anxiety. Something is going to happen. Her thoughts screamed out inside her. Dismissing the feeling, she walked inside the locker room. She checked her time table. Math. Something she hated dearly. Taking her math books, she slammed her locker shut.

Everyone was seated in the room. Mr. Sharma was explaining something on board, but Taani was afar from it. Her wonders were revolving around the soon to come trip to abroad. It was her dream to go abroad. She could have easily taken money from her parents and swoosh, she would be in foreign. But no! she wanted to do something by herself and step out of India. And she finally did.

Her school organized an art competition. It was open for students of other schools as well. But, only four people out of everyone could win. And, she was fortunate enough to be one of them with her painting of a couple. She was yet to know the other three. But, what made her happy was out of thousands of students, she achieved it.

"Okay class. You all will have your math test this coming week. I hope you all will be prepared and will do well," Mr. Sharma gave a stern smile. Few seconds later, the bell rung and everyone made their way out of the room.

When finally it was art, Taani could not help but jump with joy. She picked her art folder from her locker, which she dumped in there this morning.

Once Mr. Maheshwari was in the class, her excitement reached the heights. He was an average looking man in his early thirties. His hair were still there, still black. His personality was not dominative, but it was friendly. He had a sense of of humor.

"Taani, meet me after the class. I want you to meet other three students who will accompany you." He called out for her. She nodded and smiled. She wanted to ask more, but thought to do it later.

Once the class was over, she trailed off behind her art teacher. The other three students belonged to other schools. She learned that two were guys and one was a girl.

They entered the secluded reception where the three students will be meeting them. All of them belonged to different school. It was going to be a thrilling experience; her thoughts were sharing a talk with her.

Five or seven minutes later, a girl with pale white skin entered the reception. She carried a denim shorts with a black shirt on, and a pair of black boots, striking her look. She was indeed beautiful, Taani thought. She made her way towards Taani. Her steps were bold and confident. Once she stood in front of her, she held out her hand for hand shake.

"I am Sharon Rai Prakash." Taani took her hand and smiled with a reply.

"Taani Singhania."

"So, this is the first girl." They both were disturbed by the man beside them. They both nodded and looked at each other with smiles.

"Are you excited?" Sharon asked without hesitation.

"Yeah! You?" Taani was a little hesitant. It was clear in her voice. Sharon, who noticed this, shook her head. She lifted her palm and touched Taani's shoulder.

"Dude, we are gonna be together for this trip. You need to open up!" She smiled at her, completing with a wink.

"Uh, sorry. Yeah, it is just I am too private kind of a person. A little shy at beginning, but later a bomb." She grinned at Sharon. Sharon had a smirk on her face.

"Ahaa! Already started? Not bad!" Sharon spoke chuckling. As a response, Taani giggled.

"Girls, meet Swayam Shekhawat; third member of your group," Mr. Maheshwari spoke up, bringing girls out of their talking land. Both of them looked at the boy standing few steps away. He had long hair. His persona reflected sweetness, caring, attractive, with a ton of self respect. His height dominated his personality. He had a blue jeans on that hung dangerously low on his hips. A white tee, above which was a red cheque shirt with a blue vans.

"Hello, ladies." His voice was extremely flirtious. His charming smile was stunning.

"Hey!" Both of them said. But, what shocked Taani was that Sharon's voice was not confident. It was a mere whisper. She looked at Sharon who was blushing hard. Her gaze travelled back to the handsome man in front of her. He eyed her like a hawk. She smirked looking at both of them.

"Ahaan! Finally. The last, but never the least, Reyansh Singhania." They snapped out of their moment and looked at the gorgeous guy standing before them. If Swayam's height was dominating, then this guy had everything which leaked dominance. He was so intimidating. He intruded her. His eyes were so mysterious. He actually attracted her at the very first sight. He was like a some greek god. He had dark blue jeans covering his legs and a black shirt covering his toned torso and lastly, pair of brown sneaker, completing his look. But, one thing that remained stuck in her mind was, SINGHANIA. He was a singhania as well.

"Hey!" he let out his flirty grin. Taani's face flushed with blush as his eyes bored into hers.

"Hey!" Sharon's and Swayam's response for bold. While Taani's was a meek whisper. It was Sharon's turn to be shocked. Looking at the duo, she smirked. This is going to be so interesting.

"Now that everyone is here, let me tell you all about our trip." Their teacher started. "And, I will be escorting you all. Well, I am the youngest of all of others, and school management chose me." He gave proud smile. Seeing him like this, both the girls giggled while the boys looked un-interested. "So, this trip will be for two weeks. There you will be going to the finest school for art- Saint Thomas Art School. It is located in Folks. As you all know, Folks has a winter climate, take warm clothes." He instructed them. All of them nodded. "We leave this up coming Monday. Meaning, you are left with two days only." He smiled. "Any more questions?" he asked raising his brow.

"Can we take our cell?" Sharon queried. He let out chuckle thinking, teenagers!

"Yes, of course." He said before walking out of the room leaving four of them alone. They all looked at each other.
