Saas-Bahu shows aren't all so bad. But collectively, when there are, for example, 20/25 shows running saas-bahu, that's what gets irritating. I loved it when EHT came out, it was different, showed woman empowerment. It had a lot of potential. But I don't know what happened, the quality of the show somehow dropped.

Disregarding acting, the story itself just lost all sense. Forget about the romance. If people wanted romance, they could have integrated romance into the show a variety of different ways without losing the scope of the story. Every seen Pretty Little Liars? All girls in that show have significant others and build up their love story, however they never lose focus on the storyline.

But that's just my opinion.

After bad experience of being fooled by EHT, I have decided to stick to my previous stance of no SP shows. I stopped watching after assault of K soaps. Returned only now. Though regret it.
