Saturday 22 November 2014 | 9:53 AM

Ex-Cricketer Sreesanth who has been banned for life after the Spot-fixing controversy has now set his sights on Bollywood. The cricketer has been finalized for Pooja Bhatt's next production Cabaret opposite RichaChadda to be directed by Kaustav Narayan Niyogi. According to Pooja, the character needed someone who could speak Hindi with a Malayalam accent and Sreesanth fit the profile to a tee. Pooja further justifies her controversial decision saying, "Initially, we had thought of casting an elderly actor as Richa's mentor but once I met Sreesanth, the dynamics changed" She also adds, "Having Sreesanth in the film is a win-win situation--those who love him will watch the film, those who hate him will also come to see him."The actor reportedly has even accepted the signing amount of Rs. 5 Lakhs from Pooja.

All set for a second innings then, Sreesanth?
