I agree to some degree that Trisha is at fault for her own doings but its not as if Amrita stopped pampering her, and did she really instill true values in her daughter?
When she laughed at the fact that Trisha was misbehaving in lesson, just imagine what the teacher had to put up with and above that the parent encourages that sort of behavior!! This very evidence contradicts what Amrita supposedly represents..Furthermore she is blind to her daughters faults and that is where she is guilty, regarding trisha / vivaan affair, she was ready to pin the blame on vivaan, and also whatever trisha did that caused meghan to lash back at her through a text/fb message, Amrita conveniently ignored it as well, so once again meghan was at entire fault in Amritas eyes.Trisha is a darling through mamas eyes and that is something I find utterly ludicrous when there are glaring errors trisha made that need to be addressed
Although the laughing at naughty behaviour was only an instance it was a telling one about the attitude that is permitted and considered acceptable by Amrita. The manner in which it was portrayed was non-critical compared to when the camera is on the other characters where we are invited to question their actions to the extent of being completely cynical about the more extreme characters yet Amritas own actions are always glossed over infact as I recall the scene was approached from a romantic angle thus the indication of Amritas weak parenting was discreetly avoided even overlooked and it bugs me to no end. There was something lacking in her parenting but this seems to have been shunned and other characters step in to take the beating as the focus shifts on their respective weaknesses.
The other characters have been shaped to such worse qualities by comparison that we have a screen competition between such bad characters of whom some do show good qualities vs the absolute good in the form of Amrita who since represent what's good, her errors are completely written off and somewhere in between you have the ambassadors of the revered figure of Amrita via trisha, kushaan and his kids, kabir etc.
Again that whole helping Bobby and Meghan wasnt apologetic in nature, it only served to add further glory to her character as it was her that all the undue credit was given, although they mentioned they solved their own issue, she just had to have an input into the kids maturity when really the kids could have done without and indeed did by their own. But both kushaan and the kids were there to point out amritas wondrous qualities as if we are to worship that one woman and discard the capacity of other individuals to reach some peak of glory that is their sole doing and theirs alone.
The manner of representation is wrong in her characterization- instead of pity I feel agitated with Amrita, there have been occasions where she believes she is completely right and being judgmental to others when she has her own problems such as leaving sanya to be raised by a maid.
That Amrita is ignorant of what her daughter gets up to and is in denial has always been the case and obviously she is not fully responsible for trishas stupidity.
All that being said Id appreciate her more were the cvs to shed an outlook into her darker aspects or mistakes and flaws like her parenting, because then she wouldn't be so flat and dull and unconvincing as a character. I'm just not buying into her as a character, she irritates me more than prateek because of the unstated hypocrisy that envelopes her character from the cvs perspective and her own and this is the dictating perspective that viewers are expected to support.
