Hrithik Roshan arrived with a bang 14 years ago and the fireworks never seem to be quieting down. The success of his recent action caper Bang Bang is ample proof of his box office prowess. The film showcased him as a complete entertainment package once more. He danced like a dream, fought the baddies with the precision of a trained martial artiste, romanced like a reincarnated Don Juan and flexed his muscles like a young Adonis. I have said it before and I will say it again - it's difficult, nay impossible to find a more beautiful leading man! His sheer magnetism makes everything else on the screen redundant.

He's been going through a rough patch emotionally. Separation is never easy. How do you let go of all those moments of bliss that you spent with a loved one? There is no way you can clinically separate yourself from your memories. And how does one explain it all to one's children? These and a thousand such questions must be hammering his mind day and night but he has managed to overcome all that and has committed himself wholeheartedly to his projects, perhaps seeking a catharsis in work. I've no doubt that he will come out of this emotional maelstrom a better, stronger person.

He's done it before. From being a chubby kid with speech issues, he turned himself into a six-packed Greek God. Talk about a super makeover or what. He's been plagued with injuries throughout his career but always bounced back as a better version of himself.

Contrary to popular belief, being a star isn't easy. Yes, you get to earn loads and loads of money and get flooded with numerous perks. You lead a glorified lifestyle and are seemingly loved by millions. But you are always judged every step of the way by the same adoring masses. And all the control that you exercise over your film doesn't guarantee a win over the behaviour patterns of the viewing public. They may turn out and reject your best any given Friday without so much as a by your leave. The insecurities are colossal and he's one of the few individuals who hasn't let them dwarf him. He's always had a sane head on his shoulders. He knows how to ease himself out of his stardom. I've have the pleasure of long, reflective conversations with him where he has shed his faade and shared his real self.

That he knows there is a life beyond movies is perhaps the reason he has overcome all the obstacles and remained near the top all these years. The wunderkind is on our cover this time
