Now i got the answer.. It isnt't Grindelwald.. It is Morfin Gaunt.. He always did magic in front of muggles.. And he was imprisoned for three years.. And he confessed to attacking a muggle in front of Bob Ogden.. Pretty sure its him..

Yeah and he had the ring in his possession too! The Resurrection Stone!👏

Morfin Gaunt

Tortured muggles just for glee

being a heir of Salazar greatly affected the upbringing of Morfin, not socializing with others made him rude. He attacked Tom Riddle Senior with hives just because Merope was attracted to him.

Imprisoned for years, three

ministry of magic ordered a three years in prison for attacking one of its workers Bob Odgen.

Ignored the Hallow, despite being in possession

brought-up far away from the muggle as well as magical civilization the Gaunts didn't realize that Slytherin's Ring might be a Hallow.

Tricked into giving a boastful confession
young Voldemort turns up at Little Hangleton and after he kills his father and his grandparents usiing Morfin's wand, he goes to the Gaunt's shack and modifies Morfin's memory making him to believe he was the actual murderer and thus he ended up giving a confession quite proudly as he always hated them.
