Alia Bhatt in Half Girlfriend and Rock On-2!??

Farhan Akhtar's busy schedule delays Rock On 2 shoot?

The sequel to Rock On!! has apparently been postponed due to the unavailability of its lead pair, Farhan Akhtar and Alia Bhatt.

Sources said Alia is currently shooting for Vikas Bahl's Shandaar and will then move to two other projects " Ayan Mukherji's next starring Ranbir Kapoor and Mohit Suri's Half Girlfriend. Farhan, on the other hand, has allotted his dates to Dev Benegal's Bombay Samurai. This would be followed by Bejoy Nambiar's Wazir.

A source close to the development says, "The Rock On!! sequel was slated to go on the floors by this year end but has been pushed ahead as of now. Neither Farhan nor Alia are free to shoot at the moment. We will get rolling only in January, 2015."

Abhishek Kapoor and Pubali Chaudhuri, the cowriters of Rock On!!, are also engaged in a credit dispute relating to the sequel's script. Reportedly, Abhishek, who also directed the 2008 film, had a fall-out with the production company over creative differences. The latter then approached Pubali to work on the sequel and she registered the script with the Film Writers' Association claiming that it was her solo creation. This led to a tiff with Abhishek and the dispute is yet to be resolved.

With Abhishek out of the picture, Shujaat Saudagar of Boot Polissh Films has been roped in to direct the sequel.

Farhan and Alia were not available for comment.

How can she work on HalfGf & Rock-On 2 in 2015 when she has signed up for shooting Homi's next with Sushant on October 2015??😕

Mohit shelved Intouchables?🤔 how come he is gonna begin filming #HalfGf this early?I thought he would start on the project only after completion on Intouchables remake.

But its a direct quote right?Like they are explaining in detail about Alia's and Farhan's schdule and the clashes and all? So I thought,Alia is almost finalised

I didn't even know Mohit Suri was directing Half Girlfriend. But I think this article is more speculation than confirmation. Usually final confirmation either comes from producers or actors themselves. And in Bollywood nothing is set in stone till actual shooting starts. A year from now is a long time and who knows how schedules will change, or producers or casting decisions.

She might not require those many days for Rock On 2. It's an ensemble cast movie after all. Even if she has an important role, there will still be many scenes where she might not be required- those focussing on other characters. Anyways, a movie can be shot in 4 months. She can finish both by Oct.

Mohit might do intouchables first, while she does Rock On, and then both can come together for Half girlfriend. The pre production of HG will have to be done after all, so it can be done in next 4-5 months.

hmm I thought Homi's movie would required to be shot within an exclusive schedule,judging from his relaxed style of film-making,,.Alia would also be required to promote Shandaar next yr...Anyway I am excited for both Rock-On2 & Homi's movie😃..just wishing something happens and she leaves HalfGf..the storyline is repelling lol

I guess it depends.Alia's Highway and 2states were announced right after SOTY in 2011 though the movies released only by 2014...Hmm I've my doubts about HalfGf but RockOn-2 kinda looks confirmed from the source's quote..yeah the schedules are unpredictable..look at what happened with RK's movies this yr..I will alter the title of the post now
