Roar Dull Super Nana Very Dull Happy New Year Has Huge First Week

Roar - The Tigers of Sunderbans had a dull opening though was better at mass centres comparatively. The film at least has some collections in places like CP Berar and CI but North was very poor.

Super Nani had a poor response all over and will do practically nothing at the box office.

Happy New Year had a very strong first week of 134 crore nett as it recorded the fourth best figures ever after Dhoom 3, Kick and Chennai Express. The collections on day eight are pretty good and the film is a solid HIT.

Arjun Kapoor (2S), SIDM (EV), Ajay (SR) .. All of them have SUPERHITS...

Happy New Year had good collections on Friday of around 4.50 crore nett. Although the drop from day one is big but that was a big holiday. The drop from Thursday is just 25% and big budget releases tend to se bigger jumps from day seven to day eight. .

The film will show good growth on Saturday and Sunday and the weekend should go towards the 18-19 crore nett range which would mean the second highest second weekend of the year after Kick. The fact that the new releases are unlikely to grow much may even help to push it towards a 20 crore nett second weekend.

The holiday season has finished and film has settled and it has put up better numbers at multiplexes than single screens. Mumbai circuit leads the way as far as best performance.

Kick collected 60 cr+ after first week. Looks like HNY won't go past 40 cr. 175 cr lifetime likely.

Kich had good trend in seocnd week also which HNY doesn't has.

Now it wont do 50 cr+ collections in second week.

Kick had very good trend overall along with Positive WOM which HNY lacks . It's difficult to beat Kick Bussiness of 215 Cr / 233 Cr .

So 175 - 180 crores? Probably will edge out Yeh Jawaani/Krrish 3. It's still great considering how crap the movie is. Plus, it's not another Ra1/JTHJ/Jai Ho/Bang Bang/Don2.

Hope that SRK has learned his lesson now and stops working with Farah at least. I have no problem with SRK wanting to do mass entertainers, but he should refrain from working with Farah and the likes.

And, btw, for those who're sad - HNY continues SRK's Hit streak. It's 6 in 6 since MNIK. 😉
