Well said!! 👏
That was the highlight of the epi for me!
Finally, an honest reaction that he couldn't control, in response to an honest reaction she couldn't control.
Much though she tried, the faade cracked open and gave Sahir a glimpse of the real Arzoo, all the feelings, vulnerabilities, the softer side that she usually hid under the 'I am a tough girl' attitude. And now in one unguarded moment the mask fell, and Sahir saw straight through to the tender heart of a girl whose dreams were about to be ground into the dust. No wonder his fingers tingled with the need to wipe away those tears. He had to lock them down into a fist to hold back that urge.
Sahir probably refused to acknowledge that slip, or excused it as a vulnerability brought on by exposure to too many tears in one evening. He'd just come from an effort to restore his mother's smiles. He couldn't have known that those tears were sheer manipulation, or perhaps he did, at some level, because Alvira's tears didn't affect him as violently as Arzoo's did. Good thing too, because his mother's tears were a means to an end - to get Arzoo to stay, not to help her accomplish her dream or because she is so talented, but because in Arzoo, Alvira has found the perfect candidate to wed Sahir. Talk about conniving! For a moment there I almost went over to Nanny McPhee's side!!
