All good things are forbidden to him, in a way he is punishing himself to give a constant reminder of something bad that happened in his past. Emotionally he is still stuck in past misfortune.
Agree! I don't think there is an ex-girlfriend.

Thx for agreeing n come to think of it ..he eats the burnt toast which tastes bad ..n then swallowing it wud be as irritating ..so my poor sahir is punishing himself for Something ..n I don't know if it's cos of his dad or not but I hope the PH deals with it maturely n doesn't do a babuji KA Thullu 🤣

Yes..his dad could be the reason...and this will be the connecting thread between Aarzoo and Sahir...both affected by their dads

yes for that reason they can feel each other pain more. i guess because of sahir dad sahir some how loose his real mom and the guilt of not saving her give him more pain. as the peer baba said, "us ka dard tum se zayada hai." so he lost his both mom and dad and arzoo has her mum with her.

I cringe everytime I see him eat it, I thought there was a possibility that burnt toast was carcinogenic (obviously nothings really proven here) but koi HC ko bachao :P

On the other hand the burnt toast is probably a habit, there was a story I used to here as a kid of a man who was travelling for work, he asked the waiter to bring him some roti for breakfast. Upon seeing the perfect roti the man was disappointed and asked for the roti to be burnt, the waiter was confused but obliged and came back with burnt roti. The man happily ate it the burnt roti and said "maza agaya ab aayi ghar ki yaad".

So maybe alvira couldnt cook, and since she doesnt like to lose, no one ever mentioned her cooking sucked, and so that's why he gets really ticked off when someone mentions the toast is burnt, it's cuz for him it's like an insult to his mother dearest :P
